Lucy's P.O.V

Lucy held the rose in her hand as she stood in the middle of the night park. She had been surrounded by light from the Christmas decorations that hung on the roofs and the plants of the houses around her.

She stared at the rose and smiled at it as the snow fell down from the sky. Her lips showed happiness but her eyes were different. They showed sadness and like her smile, her tears fell.

"What's wrong with me? Why am I crying? There is no reason to cry right because there is no such thing as love."  She squeezed the rose to hope that it would break but instead it stayed strong. Lucy dropped down to her knees and began to sob to herself in the cold winter snow. She felt stupid, idiotic, doubtful.

"Love is useless, why did I think, that I would fall in love?  No one wants me. So I can't have anyone right?" She felt a sting on her thumb and looked at it to see that she had cut herself on the rose with a thorn. She shook her head and decided to walk home.
