I heard my alarm going off. Damn it.

I reach over and slap it. It doesn't shut up. I slam my fist on it. Nothing. I do it again. Still nothing! I was starting to get annoyed. I get up, unplug it, and throw it across the room.

I've done that a couple times. Which is probably why it doesn't turn off when I hit the button.

It's 7:30. Half an hour to get ready and an hour to get to the station. I can't believe I'm doing this.

I walk to my dresser and pull out some clothes. A grey loose tank top, and light blue jean shorts. Next I brush my long brown hair.

I put my bag over my shoulder and grab my suitcase and head downstairs to the kitchen.

My mom was cooking. She was wearing black leggings and an apron, with a red and white flower top. Mom had dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. My dad was wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He was reading the newspaper with a coffee in his hand.

My mom looks at me. I manage to look at her. She smiles.

I wish I had eyes like hers. A nice colour of brown. Something a bit more normal. I don't know why I like her eyes so much. They're better then mine. Blue, and gold. Yeah, I have two different colour of eyes. My left is gold, and my right is blue.

That's one of the reasons why I get teased at school. I don't really pay that much attention to them, but sometimes I just want to disappear. Or punch them in the face. And there's more then one group that teases me. A girl group of four, and a boy group of five. The boys are the worst. I guess they'll be sad that I'm not going back this year. I feel sorry for the next guy.

Plus, my eyes are so bright, they scream attention. "Look at me! Look at me!" That's why I can't look people in the face.

"Sleep well?" My dad asks.

"I guess." I reply. I look down again.

I take off my bag and set it on the floor along with my suitcase.

I take a seat at the table beside my dad. My mom comes over with two plates. She places one in front of me and my dad. Then she gets her own and sits on the left side of me.

I look at my plate. Bacon and eggs with a piece of toast. Wow. It looks fantastic.

A pick up the toast with my left hand and the fork with my right. I eat the eggs and the toast. When they're both gone, I dive into the bacon.

My dad is trying to eat and read at the same time. My mom was trying to tell him to just eat. Like every other morning.

I finish and take my plate to the sink. I remember the time. I look at the oven. 8:04.

"Mom. We should be going."

"Yes yes. I'll be there in a second."

I sigh. I grab my bags and drag them to the front door. I grab my grey shoes and put them on.

Mom and dad come in holding each other. They look sad. They stand in front of me and hold out their arms and pull me into a hug. I'm a bit shocked, but I hug them back.

"Um....we're going to be late for the train. And, we can't." I say.

They let go of me.

"Sorry. Hurry and get your stuff to the car." Mom tells me.

I nod. I grab my stuff and head to the car.

I open the trunk of our blue Toyota Matrix and put my stuff in the back. As I close it, my parents walk out of the house. They close the door and walk down the concrete path.

"Come on. I'm not going to have a lot of time to buy a ticket."

"Sorry. We're a bit slow this morning." Mom said.

"Really? I didn't notice." I thought.

"I-It's okay. Let's just hurry." I get in the back seat and buckle in.

My dad gets in the drivers seat and mom gets in the passenger seat. He starts driving. Driving fast. Normally he does.

We make our way through town to the station. 8:45 when I look at the clock. I still have to buy a ticket.

This is an old station. The one platform on the surface on the outside of town.

Dad parks the car and we sit there in silence for a while.

"I'll....see you guys in a year."

"Yeah. Be safe there." Mom said.

"Love you." Dad says.

"Sure you do. Doesn't seem like it." I think.

"Love you guys."

I open the door and get out. I walk to the back and get my stuff from the trunk. I close both doors before going.

I hear the car living and I turn around. They were leaving. My mom waved through the window. I waved back. I watch them get out the parking lot and back onto the street.

When they're out of sight, I take a deep breath and walk to a ticket booth.

I don't even know what to ask for.

"Do you need a ticket to a special school? Or somewhere else?" The booth tender asked.

"Uh, yeah. I do."

He smiles. He reaches under the table and pulls out a white ticket. He hands it to me. I look at it. It had the Zodiac on it, in black ink. It also said "Zodiac Academy".

I guess I got the right ticket.

"Thanks." I say.

He nods. I walk to a bench and take a seat. I look at the clock, 8:56.

Four minutes left. I look around the platform. I see less then 30 kids with suitcases. I guess they were going too.
