Chapter 2: Best friends

Akari's pov

Dunno why I found this guy to be a joker. Right now I'm hoping you understand the sarcasm.

Akabane Karma, or Karma, as people call him by the first name here.

"Hey, Akari, can you get 20 copies of this for me? Yes? Thank you." Nagisa handed me a piece of paper with one hand as he typed with the other.

I took them and went into a small room with a copier in it.

Hey look, I can see Nagisa from here.

As I pressed in how many copies, I watched Nagisa from here as the copy's were made.

Not much was going on. That's not until a tall red head went and snuck up behind Nagisa. His hair was in a nice style and was wearing a nice tie. He had a devilish grin on his face as he poked Nagisa's shoulder.

Before he could start talking, the copy's were finished. I took them and speed walked over to the cubicle.

"I'm back!" I announced to Nagisa. As I handed him the copy's, Karma tapped my shoulder. He had a frown on his face.

"Hey, you're sorta interrupting me and Nagisa's conversation."

"Hm." I said as a response.

I went to sit in the cubicle next to Nagisa's, like I was supposed to, and ignored Karma.

But that didn't stop Karma.

"Hey, Nagisa, do you wanna grab a drink with me later?" Karma pestered the bluenette.

Nagisa grabbed Karma's finger and continued on typing. "Probably not, you know I have things to do."

The red head frowned, but shrugged it off with a smirk. "So I guess she's taking control over your life, huh, Nagisa."

That's when Nagisa stopped with the typing. He looked Karma in the eye. "Well, she's, my responsibility. And I can't ignore responsibility. So maybe an other time? That sound good? Great." He got up and pushed Karma out of there. "Now can you please leave, Karma? Yes? Okay, talk to you later. Bye~"

With all that, Karma looked a bit offended by Nagisa. He watched his friend go back to typing, just like before.

"Hey, Akari, you up for a drink?" He smiled as if nothing happened.

"Sure, I don't see the problem with that." I looked over at Nagisa, who seemed zoned out. I then went over next to Karma. "I'll also see if I can get Nagisa to come along, no promises that he'll agree though." I said carefully.

"Great, I'll go ask some others now." He ran along.

I went back my cubicle and opened up the laptop, it was about time I started up on somethings... Ugh.

Karma's pov

"Hey there, Okuda~" I rolled over to her in my desk chair and poked her with a pen teasingly. "Can you go with me to get a drink later, I already asked the new girl so it's not just us... Not like I would mine."

She turned around and looked at me, while playing with her one braid. "I don't know if I can, Karma. Bars aren't exactly the bet place for me to be"

"Come on, it'll just be me and her if you don't come along. Plus it wouldn't be a bad idea to get you loosened up."

She relaxed her shoulders, and smiled. "Okay fine, I'll go along."

I grinned from ear to ear with her response.

She's sure gonna regret everything in the morning.

Nagisa's pov

The bus was running late as it was beginning to pour down.

Right now, Karma's probably at some bar, getting drunk, and I probably shouldn't have gone so it doesn't end bad.

"Son of a bitch, Karma." I groaned.

I pulled out my phone and tried to call home, to she if she would answer. At the second ring, she finally answered.

"Hey, Asshole, when are you getting home?"

"Not soon, I have to find out where Karma went so I can make sure he stays out of trouble." I said as I got on the bus, thankfully one of Karma's favorite bars was close by.

"Ugh! Why are taking care of him like you used to back when you were in junior High?" She whined. "He's not your responsibility, I am. Now get back home! And pick up some snacks on the way back!"

"I am not doing either of those anytime soon, so stay put and don't leave the house." I got off at the first stop.

"Fine... I can't really disobey since you are my older brother and would probably kill me, so okay, I'll see you later, Onii-Chan." She hung up.

I nodded and put my phone away. It was time to hunt Karma down. Hopefully it won't take long, I have a little sister to take care of.
