Dad literally sped us towards the police station that the officer was leading us to. I couldn't believe that the officer didn't mind Dad's insane speeding.
Once we got there, we got out of our cars and entered the building.
Beyond the lobby lied two hallways branching off to the left and to the right. We went left, where I glanced at the many rooms which held idle interrogators, eager for some work.
The officer ushered us into one room that was occupied with two other interrogators and the two guys from the truck. "Now please," one of the interrogators said as we entered. "Tell the story again, and this time, direct it to these two gentlemen."
The other interrogator raised his gun at one guy sitting on a chair, and that guy looked like he was about to take a wee. "Ok! Ok!" He yelled. "We were hired by this group to try and kidnap these two. They had taken the other two last year, the two girls, but they demanded that we kidnap whoever was left in their family. They didn't tell us why."
I stepped forward. "The two girls, are they still alive!?" I demanded.
The guy that had confessed kept staring at the interrogator with the gun, but directed his words at me. "Yes, they're just locked up! Please, lock us up for all I care, just tell that man not to shoot!"
I wasn't paying attention to his last sentence because I was to busy staring at him in shock, and so was Dad. Mom and Julie alive? I thought. The dream, it wasn't a lie, and that means...
I glanced towards Dad, who was glancing towards me, with an enormous smile on his face, but then his expression grew stern and serious. "Where are those two girls?" He demanded.
"The Industrial District." The words didn't come from either of the two criminals, but from the officer that led us here. "I'm heading over there with other units in a few minutes."
It was all happening so fast that it wasn't thinking before I spoke. " I want to come with you."
Dad's expression grew more and more serious. "No, you can't," he replied.
"I've had enough to hear of it," I said. "I want revenge, Dad. They've taken the two people I love." I grew angrier second by second. "Haven't you even had the slightest feeling of seeking revenge? You've had to have thought so, because it's Mom and Julie we're talking about. I'm not going to sit on the sidelines and wait, I want to fight alongside the officers, just so I can claim my vengeance. I can tell that you find what I'm saying to be stupid, and you probably think that I'm just a kid who doesn't have the proper experience, but I can't take it anymore. They crossed the line when they took Mom and Julie, and that hurt me. They stolen them from us, and kept them for one whole year. One year! I will make those bitches wish that they could bleed for one year!"
For a long while, nobody said anything. Finally, Dad found the courage and bravery to speak. "I understand now how you exactly feel," he replied in a quiet and sad tone. "And believe me when I say I now feel the same way." He turned towards the officer waiting by the door. "What are we waiting for? Let's go kick some a-"
Me and the officer were already heading down the hallway before Dad could finish. Dad gave a little shrug, and followed.
