[Y/N]'s POV

Ever since my parents death, I've had the weight of their debt on my shoulders.

It's over 95 thousand.

They were hardcore gamblers. My father had an addiction and my mother was a compulsive gambler, the worst type of gambler.

When I first heard of their death, I thought that they were faking it to escape their debt, but I soon learned that they gambled with the wrong crowd.

The West Mafia.

They were known all throughout the City as the deadliest mafia, but no one knew what they looked like. Just rumors.

I've met them however. I met the head of the mafia and this is how it happened.

I was walking home from a long day of work. I was very tired and wanted nothing more than to eat dinner and go to sleep. I've been craving sleep since the moment I woke up, which was at 6 am.

My job wasn't far away from my home so I walked. I worked at a nail salon as the receptionist. The girls that worked there were very nice. I wanted to be a nail artist but I take too long on each nail because of how much of a perfectionist I am so Delaine, the owner of the salon, told me to work as the receptionist. I didn't argue with her since she is the owner and she could fire me and I really need the job.

I took out my house keys as I walked up the driveway of my house. When I entered the keys into the keyhole, something didn't feel right. The atmosphere felt cold and uneasy. I brushed it off however not thinking much of it.

When I walked in I set my keys aside on the table I had at the entrance. Inside my house felt Erie too, much like outside. I reached for the switch knife I had in my pocket that I kept with me at all times. As I reached for it, the lights in my home flicked on, "you must be [Y/N], right?" I heard a male voice say.

I froze. I looked to the direction of where the voice was coming from and my eyes landed on a man sitting on one of my chairs that looked like a throne. He sat crossed legged with his arms folded Infront of him. He had two big buff looking men on either side of him, both had a scowl on their faces as they looked at me. "Well answer my question darling. I don't like to be kept waiting" he spoke as he kept eye contact with me. I took a breath in to calm my nerves and softly let it out, "y-yes I'm [Y/N]..." A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips, "good girl. You didn't lie."

My heart kept on racing as I looked at him. Why is he here? I was un-eased by this situation. Something bad is going to happen or it already has. "How do you know my name and how did you get in?" I asked the man as I gained the courage to speak though everything in me said not to. He unfolded his arms and snapped with his left hand, "your parents as you may know are gamblers and they gambled with me and shockingly," one of the men next to him walked up to me and handed me an envelope with the words West Mafia on it as he spoke. My eyes widened at the name. "They lost and couldn't pay me immediately, so I generously gave them a month to get the money. They both failed to do so, and I'm a man of my word and told them both that if they couldn't get the money, they'll die and they did."

I couldn't believe what he was saying. It had to be a cruel joke. There's no way it's true, right?

"[Y/N], darling open the envelope will you? There's the amount of money you now owe me on your parents behalf" "I-I don't have any money-" he cut me off. "Oh I know you don't. Just open it please" he had a smile on his face, an unselting smile.

I looked down to the envelope in my hand and flipped it over to open it. Once it was open, I took out the folded paper and in bold letters was the amount. $95,850. My eyes widened as I felt like I was about to faint. The man once spoke again, "keep reading darling, there's more" his smile never faltered. The rest of the paper read, if you, [Y/N] [L/N], can not pay back the West Mafia, you can either become our or my property, make a business and give all the money you make to us until your debt is paid or have us kill you now. You decide.

My breathing laggard as I clawed into my skin, trying to wake up from this nightmare. "I assume you're done reading, correct?" I only nodded due to me being at loss for words. His eyes grew cold as his smile still remained, "pick your option".

I only had three choices. Become his or the mafia's property, death, or make a business and give the money I earn to them. Death aside, I'm still their property until "my" debt is paid off. If I do the business thing, I'll only be under their control for a little while. My mind was easily made. "I'll do the business option" he rolled his eyes, "boring but it's your decision after all. I'll decide what you'll open and who will work there" he stood up and started walking towards me with his men following behind him "you'll receive another letter in a week telling you everything and before you even think about it," he roughly cupped my jaw and forced me to look up at him, "don't you even think about running away from me, do you understand? If you do I will personally kill you" "yes I understand" I barely spoke above a whisper due to my fear of him. He released his grip on me as he, and his two men walked passed me towards the door and left.

When they left I dropped to my knees and started crying. I cried for the loss of my parents and for the loss of my freedom.
