Emerge Feelings

Too focus in supporting her love ones and forgot to build her future. Aged without noticing the time. Feeling left out by everyone.

It started when she was really into her studies. It was the time when she was too focus on how to finish her degree. She was too focus that she indulge too much time in reading and learning. Focus that she forgot to mingle with others. Focus that she forgot to make friends. She was too focus to fullfil her family's dream that she forgot to construct hers. She was too focus on how to support her family and forgot to build her own.

Yes. She is stable now. Have a good job. She can travel if she wants to. She can go and buy things for her own and yet something is missing. She's not that ugly to be left out. She is not that too small to be unnoticed. She is not that fat to be unworth the stare. She is not that unsociable to be left out. She is a lady worth to be courted. She is a woman worth to be married. She is thirty one years old worth to have children. She is old enough worth to nurture and care for a baby. And yet she is still single.

Oftentimes, she wondered if this is her destiny. Destiny to go on shopping alone. Destiny to buy baby's thing for her nephews and nieces. Destiny to hang out with her siblings's family. Destiny to adore other's child. Destiny to go on a movie date not with someone but with popcorns. Destiny to ride a passenger jeep sitting alone besides couple. Destiny to be alone. Why is it? Is she being punished?

After years of looking and searching for her mr. Right she finally gave up. She finally got tired of waiting. She finally stopped from hoping. She finally withdrawn herself from daydreaming.

Now, she is focusing on her life. She goes out with friends. She extends help to the needy. She volunteers on medical mission. She participates on community outreach programs. She does what makes her happy and helping others is one.

Every after three months of medical mission they receive an allowance. They always plan to go and enjoy. To go out of town. To go on treking and hiking. To go on swimming and sunbathing.

It was on their end-mission party where they met. Every doctors, nurses and other volunteered staff was there. Anne, one of her friends, introduce them to each other. He is a friend of her friends.

Hi Gel. Nice to meet you. He said smiling and extending his hand.

Nice to meet you too Daven. She smiled and accepted the handshake.

They spend the night talking to each other since everyone is with their respective partners. They talk about random things.

He asked for her number before going home. He message her. Called her early in the morning until it became their hobby to miss each other.

They goes out from time to time. Went to public places to eat street foods. Eat at restaurant and explore different delicacies. Went to a trip together after their stressful work.

That's the time where he came into the picture. The time where he began to enter her boring life. The time where he watered the dead feeling of love. The time where he tries to win her heart. The time where her goals were also his. The time where her pain half suffered by him. The time where he connects with her innerself. The time where ones get to fully understand her ups and downs, her moods, her being stubborn, her being crazy, her being paranoid, her being sad and happy and her as a woman.

They went for a trip to the beach again. She is sitting on the shoreline waiting for the sun to set. The wind is so fresh that it makes her forget the populated city. The surrounding is so calm that the vehicles sound vanishes. And the nearby couples and families are so sweet and happy that it makes her appreciate life.

Someone sits beside her for approximately a foot apart. By the perfume she smelled, she knows who is it.

Can I? He asked.

She nodded without turning her head.

Silence crept between them until the sun sets.

Beautiful! Said he in almost a whisper.

Yes it is! She replied focusing her gaze on the red-orange sky.

But the woman besides me was more beautiful. He said nonchalantly.

She turn her head to the guy beside her. Looking for another girl and unsure if he is pertaining to her but the guy is staring at her.

Infact, she is gorgeous just by turning her head. He added showing his perfect set of white teeth.

Her cheek color blended with the reddish sky. She averted her gaze back to the sea. Trying to surpress the tingling feeling inside her stomach.

Thank you. She said smiling after getting back to her tongue.

My privilege. Said he.

She feels the stare is getting into her cheek. She feels his attention focusing on her. She feels the feelings now. This is one of those time she is ambivalent. Torn between she wants him to stop what he's doing but on the other side she still enjoys it despite of the embarassment.

Can you look infront of you? She said staring at the sea.

I am. Now. He said gesturing his hand beside her.

She saw him from her peripheral vision that he turn her body towards her. Now his attention is all on her.

I mean. Look at the beautiful sky or appreciate the widest seabed. She said pointing her forefinger.

The view in front of me is more beatiful than those. Said he half smiling.

That's when she covers her reddish face.

This is awkward. She mumbles.

Hmm? What is it?

No. N-nothing. I-I mean.... never mind. She replied still covering her face.

You said to appreciate the view. Yet you are blocking me from watching it. She heard him whisper with the tone of smiling.

You must... okey stop it. She said looking at him.

That's better. Said he half smiling.

She gave up and let the feels goes.

It's been awhile before those feeling emerge. She said in her mind while looking at his deep set eyes.

Those beautiful eyes. She mumbles.

It started that way. She just goes with what is happening. She gave it a try hoping it will work. To her, He is her first and would be her last too. To him, she may not be his first but she will be his last. She will be his lifetime.

She maybe focus before in reaching her family's dream for her. She maybe focus before in supporting her love ones. She maybe focus in building their future but she is thankful at the same time cause she get to help them and found the one for her.

It may took some time to get to meet him but indeed, everything happens on the right time at the right place with the right person.
