The castle was in ruins.
A small ghost was curled up on the cracked marble floor resting peacefully. She had been sleeping for quite some time, almost 100 years. But as soon as she heard the repetitive beeping sound, she shot up and looked around the room until she saw the red blinking light. Her face lit up in a grand smile and she flew around the room, attempting to wake up the other sleeping ghosts. She sighed when none of them responded and she flew over to investigate the light for herself.
She touched the red light and in an almost electronic way it lit up and showed the faces of many young beings. She counted them and couldn't help but murmuring at the faces she knew about, Kirby the pink starwarrior, Meta knight the mysterious masked knight , Bandana waddle dee the loyal servant of the self proclaimed king of dreamland, and the king himself Dedede. She finished counting down to the last two and when she saw them she gasped, and Accidentally knocked over the glowing orb that contained the red Light, shattering it to pieces.
" they're humans! THEY'RE HUMANS! " she shrieked flying around the room in aimless circles. The other ghosts awoke from their slumber. " Oy, pipe down back there, Annette." said one ghost wearing a tattered purple and green jester's hat. The other looked alarmed at each other. " a human?! " a ghost trembled, slight fear in his voice.
Annette paid no attention to the other ghosts and straightened the cracked star on her chest, picking up a few belongings while she was at it. Human or not, she had to do her job and guide the young travelers to safety and to make sure they avoided contact with the dark side.
She flew out the remains of her once beloved home, her ghost companions following close behind. She glanced at the dark clouds looming in. She had to reach the heroes quickly before it was too late.
The light inside of her broken star peaked outside of the cracks and was just enough light to slice through the dark forest ahead, leading towards the scattered locations of this generations heroes. She knew she had to reunite them fast.
Or else.
