K A T I E
~ C H A P T E R T H R E E ~

The cool air nipped at my neck as I stood just outside the club. Not getting nearly the amount of fresh air I needed I decided to walk around a bit.
Still stuck in my spot I contemplated which direction to head first since I wasn't familiar with this part of town. After a couple of seconds I decided to just wing it and if need be I could use my phone to find my way back.

The city was so lively this time of night I couldn't imagine ever leaving New York for anything in the world, not even for a fiancé.
The vibrant florescent  lights glowed through shop windows excited some sort of happiness in me. A warm and homely feeling spread throughout my chest as a smile crept its way on my face.
This was home.

After idly walking around for what seemed to be hours I decided it was time to head back before Nikki started to worry. Taking a survey of my surroundings I've realized that I was completely and utterly lost.

Taking my phone out of my bag I press the power button. My wallpaper appeared with distant memories of earlier this summer. A simple moment captured by  Johnny. Nikki and I had spent that whole afternoon at the beach enjoying our time in the water and before we knew it Johnny snapped a photo of us. Thinking back to that day I was surprised to get a notification warning me that I only have one percent left.

You've got to be kidding.

Okay well I'd just have to retrace my steps and I should be alright. I hadn't strayed much of my path, only a couple dozen turns left and right nothing too bad, right? I tried reassuring myself but to no avail I was getting anxious.
If I remember correctly there's a bar not far down Wilmers street I could easily catch a taxi from there being that it was on the main road and all.
The cars rushed passed me, and all I could see were the blinding headlights of each vehicle. Everyone off to their own destination for the night. It was quite a mesmerizing sight actually, all the bright colors surrounding me I was in sort of a trance. I could call this a little adventure, now all I need is a mysterious hot guy to bump into me to complete the cliche story that belongs on paper.
The shops starting to look more familiar. I was getting closer to the bar. My legs were aching but I finally made it, tilting my head back I looked up at the huge florescent sign that read: 'Midtown's bar'.
