It's been 1 week since the lockdown at school.
Everything is crazy.
After the lockdown, the teachers told us to call our parents to pick us up. My mom was on a business trip, and my dad was at work. Carl told me to go with him. We both ran to his house and his dad, Rick, ran over and hugged us both, asking if we were okay.
He told us what was going on and we watched the news on the edge of our seats.
"Breaking news: a disease has broken out globally. Symptoms are a high fever and can lead to death & redirection with a huger for humans. So far 762 people have died world wide. We will keep you updated on this tragedy."
Carl and I sat there in shock and the phone started ringing. I picked it up.
"Emma?! Sweetie!" I heard my mom say, there were people in the background screaming and crying. "It's your father! He's sick! Stay-stay with Rick, Lori and Carl. I'll come back for you once your father is well." She was crying when she was talking.
That was the last time I heard her voice.
