Nikki's POV
TODAY IS THE MOST EXCITING DAY. EVER!!! As usual, I woke up at six forty five and ate my breakfast. But that was until I realized that today I've got a day home from school!
SQUEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
Well, that's because we are going to host a transfer student! Principal Winsto told us that yesterday. He also said who volunteer to host the student, and practically everyone did. Well, except for MacKenzie! That girl is soooo mean, she said that she didn't want ANOTHER dirty, ugly ANIMAL in her house. AGAIN !!!!! OMG! That girl is so SPOILED! Like, who says THAT?!
Anyways, I checked the clock. We are supposed to meet the transfer student at eight a.m. Oh, crud!!! It's already seven thirty! And the airport's an hour ride away!!!
So I did what I had to, in my reputation of being a very responsible daughter.
"Mom! Dad! Brianna! Wake up!!! We're late for greeting the transfer student!"
"What's the matter, sweetheart?" My mother asked.
"I already said it!!!"I yelled at the top of my lungs."WE ARE LATE FOR GREETING OUR FIRST TRANSFER STUDENT!!!"
That did wake them up. Thank god.
"Oh, no! Nikki! We are going to be late!" Mom checked her watch while Dad tripped over a banana peel that someone left there ( probally miss Penelope!!!).
"YAY!!!Nikki, do you think the transfer student likes Princess Sugar Plum?" Brianna screamed hysterically. "I wanna share my room with her! Yay!"
I rolled my eyes mentally. The new student will stay in MY room, 'cause Mom and Dad said so. I didn't object either, 'cause, I mean, HOW bad can THAT be?! I can talk to a foreign student, AND there's a chance that she doesn't practically WORSHIP MacKenzie!

Alright, now we're at the airport. I guess the student might have waited for quite a while, so we rushed in and held up our very cruddy-looking sign drawn by Brianna and Dad (again!). OMG! I don;t even think we got a single LETTER right in the name!
Anyways, after about ten minutes, a small girl about twelve walked to us and asked if we are the Maxwells. OMG, she is so CUTE!!!! Not in the MacKenzie way, though.
She wear an "ao dai", a traditional vietnamese dress. She is also kind of shy. Well, obviously, that's right. She IS in a foreign country after all. WITHOUT a familiar face.
Turns out our student is from Vietnam.That's why her name is weird and hard to pronounce (Phuong Anh?). Her english very good, though, and she is terribly smart.
OMG!!! Her drawings are AWESOME!!!! I just LOVE that girl!!!
Anyways, school starts tomorrow, so we helped Phuong Anh unpack her things and introduced her to us.
GUESS WHAT!!!
She each gave us a present! It's a little traditional-vietnamese style drawing of a school. Wow! That's soooooo nice of her!!!
By the ways, when I asked Phuong Anh about what class she's going to be in, she went all secretive of giggled un controllably!
Well, can't wait 'til tomorrow!
I mean, HOW hard CAN it be?
