A troop marched towards the lining of a jungle. The Harmonzi jungle, the jungle that just so happened to be infested. Not only with bugs, but also creatures of the deep dark. The monsters in myths and stories that evil older siblings tell you, the same monsters that kept you up and frozen in place on the middle of your bed. Monsters that watched you from the one closet right across from you. None of the soldiers showed their fear as they stood at the edge of the boundary, but Stellith wasn't a soldier.
"Trying to take the Hormanzi jungle? This is smart, you're just wasting men on this, we're bound to lose." he snarled, not really talking to anyone. A few soldiers looked back at him but quickly returned their gazes ahead of them, it seemed too late as the commander stepped towards Stellith. Fanzi looked down at him and growled through gritted teeth. His cold stare ripped through Stellith's soul as he stood, not moving an inch. "Did you say something, medic?" the commander seethed.
"No, but I am now. My name is Stellith though, not 'medic.' However, that is my practice and occupation." Stellith simply smiled. Fanzi scoffed and walked back to the front, every once in a while throwing dirty looks towards Stellith. That's when they heard it, a chorus of hissing, growling, snarls and yells. A short woman walked from the foliage straight to the boundary, but never overstepping it. "It has been brought to my attention that you have not left the boundary that keeps our territory separate, what are your intentions?" she batted her eyelashes and crossed her arms in front of herself. Eyes of all colors and types watched from the treeline as her fairy-like wings flapped behind her slim body.
That's when all hell broke lose, the troops ran on a single command and the army had first bloodshed. The midsection of Fanzi's sword coated with blood of the woman. Stellith looked down and saw the head as it's roll came to a stop ad his feet, he grimaced as it turned to dust. As quickly as the sword came in contact with her neck the eyes busted out of the brush, creatures of different types. They were able to make it at least a quarter way into the forest before five men were slaughtered.
That's when Stellith heard the low growl of a creature somewhere in front of him. During the rampage, he had been separated from the troop. He didn't need to be told twice before he was running into the nearby ruins of an old village. He ducked into a small closet like room, it could barely hold him. Even then he pressed his back against the stone cold wall and watched the door, trying not to make a sound.
The creature hopped a wall of the ruins and sniffed the ground. It's claws scraping across the detailed flooring, all the while it keeps growling. Stellith's breath caught in his throat as the thick claws scratch at the wood of the door. He wanted to scream but all that came out was a puff of air. Then everything was quiet, as he went to open the door- SNAP!
Stellith came face to face, with dead cold. Amber Eyes.
