Battle ready
The new phase II armour was superior to the phase I, the armour segments were designed to be more flexible and were made of a lighter metal, with a similar deflection ability. The helmet was smaller and less bulky, and had a simple electronic hud that could display tactical information similar to the displays given to republic commando troopers. With his armour equipped, Arch walked briskly to the requisitions officer "Sir, CT-6782 reporting in for my weapons and explosives sir."
The officer was a non clone and had large bags under his eyes, he appeared undernourished and weak. "CT-6782? Hold on one second" The officer went back into a closed off room and came back within moments. "I was wondering who would pick up the saber, no doubt there's a story, but surely you must hurry"
Arch thanked the officer and sprinted outside and towards the LAAT rally area, he quickly found the command transport which was full of decorated troopers and held the general. Arch stuffed his equipment in a overhead storage net and clenched the overhead handles. Once he was secured, the rear compartment doors sealed. Inside were troopers wearing oddly shaped helmets, more of an oval shape with ridge grinded along the edges. Many of the troopers wore Blaster resistant fabric around their legs called Karmas and carried slung long laser rifles known as DC-15A's.
But within the group of new troopers, was a soldier Arch recognized instantly even with the new armour, that man was named Commander Bly. Bly was a notorious commander known for his calm demeanor and lethal skills, his troops were very disciplined and known as some of the most elite troops the Republic had. Suddenly Arch's comm buzzed as the LAAT began to lift off the ground below and accelerate towards the final CIS presence on Felucia, revenge was quickly coming on the horizon. The comm continued to buzz and Arch answered
Welcome to the 327th star corps CT-6782, you got a name?
Arch responded They call me Arch, least they used too, it's been a long while.
I heard Arch, well here's the plan, The LAATS in our unit will quickly fly over the target area, we will then... Bly stopped talking for a moment and when Arch looked over he held a small pack, Bly then continued This is the best jump pack the Republic currently offers for their new Airborne troopers, the plan is to fly over the zone quickly while we dismount and use these to slow our descent. Once on the ground we need to destroy as many CIS AA guns as possible so our advancing armoured divisions have enough support to reach the base and finish it off. Once we have the AA guns offline we will hold down a position and wait for reinforcements and aerial support. Any questions Arch?
Arch replied Any orbital support, and where's the general commander?
Unfortunately the CIS shab's have set up emp countermeasures in the low orbit around the target, these emp's are difficult to detect and play hell with the guidance systems of the destroyers artillery shells, by the time we could disable them we would be in the midst of the enemy and support would only lead to friendly fire, and the general is with the pilots using the force to detect any movement outside, just in case a rogue CIS rocket droid gets any ideas.
So we are on our own with no support, I go from one suicide mission to another... Bly responded That's our job trooper, do the impossible and you signed on the craziest of us, remember you wanted on the general's personal team.
The dim red lights in the compartment flashed a blazing red and the rear doors jolted open, the pilot came over the intercom
ETA 60 seconds to target area, you'll have a 18 second window to drop or you'll land off course. Good luck lads...
The intercom cut off, and Arch strapped the jumpack to his back, and tensed to jump out of the craft.
