Philip, 1803
France. I took my first step to Deauville, only to be put in a carriage to Versailles. I was anxious. I need to see Y/n. I could care less what anyone said she did. It might have hurt me, but I love her too much. I would kill anyone if I had to, just to find her. After several and many hours of the carriage ride. We've made it to Lafayette's estate. I have been told about Y/n staying here. But it might be false. As I approach the door, I am immediately greeted by dogs. "Hey guys." I pet them. I knock and just wait.
"Coming!" I hear a feminine voice. Not Y/n obviously but maybe Lafayette's Daughter. "For the last time, I will not go on a date with anyone." She says as she opens the door and then tries to close it.
"No, i'm looking for Y/n."
"Y/n? She's gone."
"Where?"
"She is a supervisor for Monsieur Louis in Normandy." Dammit. I have to go all the way there now.
"Is Monsieur Lafayette here?"
"Who's there Mon Cheri?" I heard my fathers dear friend's voice.
"Philip."
"Fils de Hamilton!" (Hamilton's son) Lafayette gave me a great big hug. As he pulled away from the hug, he then noticed how you weren't with him.
"Oh i'm sorry mon fils. Y/n left. But I can get you another carriage. You must stay for a rest though." He smiled.
"Oui, I would love too." I smile back. "So Lafayette. I was told Y/n stayed for a while here?"
"Oh yes, she was here a few months ago for a week and then left to Normandy."
"Oh, I must leave tomorrow for Normandy."
"Non. You stay for three days at least. Y/n is important, but if you want to find her, you must take care of yourself." He was right, but that is three more days I waste.Y/n
"Y/n! Come!" Your boss shouted. You supervise his laborers for him while he does other stuff. The job isn't all too bad. Just boring since the other two Supervisors are men and the laborers don't take you seriously. You followed your bosses orders and make your way to where he is.
"I want to know if you're interested in helping out a dear friend of mine? She has many pets, and I've seen the way you are with the strays." He smiles. Monsieur Louis is a very kind old man about 65 years old but, if he didn't like you, you could surely tell. Luckily, he liked you.
"Oh oui, that seems wonderful." You smile.
"You'll be leaving for Saint. Denis. Walk with me." He stands up and you walk with him around to his garden.
"That sounds wonderful thank you so much Monsieur." You thank him.
"I want you to know I see you as a daughter. I was never fortunate enough to have one." He looks down. His wife had died after giving birth to his son about 35 years ago. His son left him a few years ago to the Americas, so the man was really all alone.
"Oh Monsieur, wouldn't you rather me stay?" You ask.
"Non, My dear friend needs help with her animals. Promise me you'll visit me again." He smiles.
"Of course Monsieur. I'd love too." You hug the man.
"My wife used to love these flowers." He points to some Irises. You had seem them a lot when you were in Paris but never paid much attention.
"They are magnificent Monsieur." You look at the flowers adoringly.
"Please call me Papa." He smiles. "I want you to think of me whenever you see an Iris." He picks one and hands it to you.
"Oui. Merci, Monsieur- I mean, Papa." You politely take it from his hand. You examine it.
"Come sit." You follow him to a bench. "You miss someone?" He was good at predicting things.
"Oui."
"Who?"
"My partner." You play with the Irises petals.
"Where is he?" He asks you.
"The Americas. I left him because i've done the worst to him and his family."
"Talk to me, chéri. Tell me your story." And so you do. You tell him the whole story and he just sat there and listened to you."And so, Monsieur Jefferson got me onto a ship and I came here." You finished.
"Chéri, you have to find him." He tells you.
"I will. But it's too soon." He drops the subject and you have a silence between you and the man.
"I'm getting old, Chéri. I will pass soon." He looks up to the sky. "I will be reunited with my love." He says as if he's talking to the heavens.
"Oui." You smile sadly. You could tell he still loved her.
"I want to leave my estate and everything to you. My son is too ungrateful and inconsiderate to deserve what I own." He tells you.
"Monsieur. I mustn't." You refuse.
"Oui, chéri. I leave the estate,my business, my money, and my belongings to you and your lover."
"Are you sure papa?" You ask him as you grab his experienced and cracked hands into your own.
"Oui. You deserve it." He smiles.
"Non Monsieur." You were shocked.
"Now please Chéri, let's go eat supper." You walk with the man into his home. You had a lot to finish before you'd leave the man on his own.A/n This is a lil teaser for you guys ;). I thought y'all would like this. I will not be actually posting chapters to this for a lil while tho. Just be patient with me. I think you'll like this sequel. I have big plans for this one.
