"Child unconscious," said the muffled lips of the surgeon. Five men in white doctor's uniforms and masks leaned over a small child named Stephen Monty.

"Good," another doctor replied, reaching down onto a tray and coming up with a scalpel. "Cutting has begun."

He pushed it into Stephen's flesh and moved his hand up and down, slicing long slits in a square shape. Upon finishing the cuts, he removed the slab of skin and placed it onto a plate. Blood dripped onto the floor in a pool.

"The child's lungs are now visible," the doctor said. "Implanting Antidote Eruc Eht." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a slender needle. It contained a bubbly green guck.

He penetrated the left lung of Stephen with the pointy silver tube and pushed his thumb down hard. The goo flowed out of the needle. Soon it was empty.

He retracted the object and gently placed it on a pedestal beside the heaping glob of flesh.

Stephen's lungs pulsed up and down as he drew breaths in and out.

"Have we finished with Morgan and Ashley?" The surgeon asked.

"Yes," another answered. "Subjects are ready to be released. What about his grandmother?"

"Still in Virginia as planned."

"Excellent. Is dispatch ready?"

"Yes."

"Finished sewing the flesh back into place," a doctor called from behind the two men. "Stephen is ready."

The two doctors placed their hands on the edges of Stephen's stretcher and began to wheel him out of the room and onto a helicopter.

"Ready for takeoff. 3. 2. 1."
