I lay in bed awake as usual and stare at the ceiling. I think it's almost time. I check the clock at my bedside table, "1:31 AM". I slowly rise from my covers. 'Should I go outside?'. What if someone is awake? I feel my pale feet slowly grip the hardwood floor beneath me and stand. I tiptoe out of my room and peer into my parents bedroom. They're asleep, good. I go near the front door downstairs and put on my shoes and tie them. I grab a coat and slowly head for the door knob. I twist it until it creaks. Slowly moonlight creeps into my house. I carefully get out and on the doormat and close the door. I lose my tense expression and walk into the night. The late chilly fall leaves crunch beneath my worn shoes. I want to go somewhere new. Then suddenly chills kissed my back as I looked at the one place that always tempted me since birth. "DO NOT ENTER" read the sign hanging from the chained section. Tonight would be the night I disobeyed the sign and explored what lurked behind. I hesitantly walk towards the chains and slip through a gap. I'm actually doing this! I feel brave and mighty at this point and take in my surroundings carefully. People always warned me about this area. All they said was that it was dangerous and not safe for humans. That always sparked my curious self to find out what could possibly be so bad. Whenever I even asked people what was behind there, They'd say they didn't even know and that it was simply off limits!! This place called my name every night but I listened to my cowardly adults until now. I slowly look around at the natural and wild scenery around me and took it in. I walk down a natural dirt path for about a few minutes. Suddenly with my luck something hits the ground behind me and I freeze. I hear it again and just sprinted forward. At this point I'm completely terrified and feel regret creeping in my head. I run carelessly and trip over a stone that had been lodged into the dirt. I tumble down painfully against the hard ground. I finally stopped. My heart was racing and wouldn't chill out. What if someone is after me?! I stand up and realize I'm completely lost in the dark. Then I turn around and see some sort of circular stone. It had ingravings of beautiful intricate patterns on it. People must have done this. Wild flowers nearly cover the entire stone. I look at the edges of the stone and realize there are other different stones in place. Emerald, Amazonite, Amethyst, Ruby, Bloodstone, Yellow sapphire, Aquamarine, Diamond, Turquoise. Opal, Moonstone, and lastly Coral. These stones are perfectly polished! Who would leave these here?!! I see the moonstone isn't in a fitted hole like all the other ones. I pick it up carefully and place it a matching empty hole. Suddenly the entire stone lights up. Wind blows all around me as this stone shines different bright colors on me. I slowly hover my hand onto the middle of the stone and it goes in. I try to go deeper with curiosity but then my other arm loses grip on the side and I fall in completely!
