I was going out with the girls tonight, so we went shopping for the tartiest outfits we could find, you know heels, skirts, hotpants, tops and stuff. We finally chose our outfits and it was 7:34, shit, our train arrives in 20 minutes. We ran into the loo's in the station and got changed in them, and we put on our makeup whilst on the train to Chelmsford. We hopped off the train and got the dirtiest looks off the old ladies, and the wierdest looks off the old men that sit having a fag on the bench right at the end of the platform. I strolled contently through the station even if the mothers whispered to their children 'they are the kids, we told you to watch out for' or adults muttering to each other, 'oh god, we where never like that' or 'i would never let my kids wear that, they look like trash' i just want to turn around and go 'dont bring them up in essex then, you slapper'
We went to Zabby's, a night club near the park. The music boomed so loud you could feel the baseline in your stomach, we saw Dan, Charlie and Sam. Tillie immediatly attached herself to Charlies hip, and danced with him, so Me, Lottie, Carys and Pheobe danced with the others. Lottie caught the attention of a bloke on the other side of the room. They exchanged a couple of looks, and he checked her out alot, she winked at him then giggled to us. He came past and offered to buy her a drink, so she accepted and followed him closely to the bar. She got him to buy her a shot of Tequila and a Pina Colada. He ordered himself a cocktail called 'shake it up' and a bottle of budweiser. She took a sip of her drink looking at him over the edge of the glass. He winked at her, she blushed and turned away. She looked at us, and we where signalling her to kiss him, while she had a chance. He'd clearly taken his, he splashed a small pot of white powder into her drink, as i ran over, she drank the rest of the shot. She immediatly felt drowsy and she went to sit down. We went to the bar to get help, so he helped her up and lead her out back. It looked perfectly normal, just a off-their-face couple walking out a club. As we turned to point at the sofa where she rested, we realised she was gone, We imediatley called her mobile but couldnt get through. So we asked around if anyone had seen anything. We asked a man, if he had seen her, when he said yes, my stomach flipped. We asked for a rough idea of where she had gone, and the man had been with her again. He had calmly said to her 'come on love, you look ill, lets get you a taxi home' so she had nodded hopefully and drunkenly made her way to the door. We called 999, handed over her details and everything that had happened, including what the man looked like. They knew him. This had happened before, to other girls. So they sent out 2 search helicopters, 4 police cars and a couple extra police around the nightclub.
Three hours later and there was no sign of her, we had been trying to ring her every 30 minutes, the search helicopter thought they picked her up, but it wasnt the right guy. Rumours had been told, there was posts on her facebook wall saying 'where are you babe?' or 'come back!' or 'wheres that dickhead taken you?' people had written status's with comments like 'where is she?' or 'is she dead?' questions that couldn't be answered, basically.
Another two hours passed, so slowly. All that was said was talk on the radio, and the chats over mobile from her parents, her nan, her sister, her brother, her aunt, her friends. Everyone was completely and utterly sick with worry. Dreading to get the news that she could have been raped, killed or just completely missing. It was one o'clock now, so we split up to search the area. Me and Sam went round Shuttle Road, and to look down the alleys, theres four of that road, nearby too. They had all been checked multiple times, but worth another go right? We set foot into the alley, it was dark, cold and raining. There was only moonlight through the wispy haunting trees above our heads, then we heard it. The smash of glass and a scream so loud you couldnt miss it. We ran, towards the scream, sudden hope it would be Lottie. Alive, but in danger, at least we could save her that way. We slowed as we got to the corner. 'YOU BITCH, WHY DID YOU KEEP RUNNING?' someone shouted. A small, shaky voice replyied 'I had too, I don't want you in that way' we rang PC Heddinton, and whispered 'we've found them, track this mobile' and hung up. We walked off the path into the wood and approached the man from behind. Sam grabbed him and held a gun to his head, it wasnt loaded, but its the thought that counts. PC Heddinton had given it to us, for the image. He tried to bite Sams hand but it was so flat, and covered in the mans saliva and sweat, he couldnt grip. Lottie just layed there, still. She was breathing, but bleeding from her forehead and lip.
PC Heddinton raced round the corner immediately handcuffing the man to a nearby tree, as I helped Lottie up, and she hugged me tighter than ever. She was crying and PC Heddinton gently placed her hand on Lotties shoulder. Lottie flinched, as PC Heddinton explained why it was important to tell her what happened. She took a deep breath, hesitantly stuttering in a low whisper 'h-he t-tried to- well h-he t-touched and-' then burst out crying. 'tried to have sex with you?' i said to her, calmly in a friendly concerned voice. She nodded, with streams of tears falling from her eyes.
We climbed into an ambulance that had been called for Lottie. Me and Sam sat next to her. Iv'e never seen sam so.. broken. He had tears in his eyes as he looked over her body, battered, bruised and bleeding. He was holding her hand, she was asleep, we were tired and out eyes where bloodshot, from lack of sleep, and crying. He was shaking and breathing heavily. He looked at her face and looked at me, he whispered 'why did it happen to her?' he said as a tear fell down his face.
'i love her'
