Right before we left the forest he handed me a banana and started peeling one for himself. After we'd both finished eating we left the forest. We were greeted by the sight of a bunch of human kids playing tag. We stood their and watched the kids scream with delight for a while then one said, "I'll be right back." He ran up to us and told us to follow him. I did without reluctance but Black followed warily. He led us a little ways from the town and then turned and led us into a forest. after we'd been walking for about two minutes he started climbing a tree. When he'd reached the top he entered a treehouse hidden in the leaves and leaned out a window and ushered us up. I scrambled up rather clumsily, but Black climbed up as easily as if he was just walking on the ground. When we were both in the treehouse he started talking.

"My name Franklin Beddoe Banks, I'm named after the first human to enter this village, and I assume you don't know why I led you here.", he said. We both shook our heads. "I thought so. It is because Almost everyone in this village despises Aivels."

"Then why did you bring us here are you going to turn us in?", I asked.

"No, No, No. I brought you here to save you and because I've never seen Aivels in person, and I have a few questions for you.", He said throwing his hands up.

"Fire away.", I said with a shrug.

"First of all do you act like animals sometimes? Second of all do you have cool powers to go with your features? Third of all can I feel the cat Aivels ears?" On the last question he started twiddling his fingers and was all shifty eyed.

"The answer to your first two questions is no but you'll have to ask him for the answer to your third question." I gestured at Black who was looking around himself this whole time.

"yes you can", Black said to my surprise he must be desperate, "if you answer my question and then tell me the history of this town."

"Yes I will. What is your question." The kid said sitting up straighter.

"did you build this treehouse?", Black asked still looking around himself.

"No I didn't. I found it while I was exploring the forest.", the child said, "This town was originally almost completely Aivel except for one family of humans. One pair of Aivel parents developed cancer and died. The Aivels blamed this on the human family and killed them. But the human congress was enraged and the killed every Aivel in this village.", At this Black stood up straight, jumped out the window, and ran towards the village, "Hey what about the ears?"

"You can feel them when we come back." I said dropping down through the branches and took after Black. When I caught up with him he was pulling a gun out his satchel and loading it with tranquilizer darts. I put my hand on the barrel. "No, Black. We have to get to Seteriel we already lost all afternoon.", I gripped it harder and pulled him back to the treehouse. Reluctantly he put the gun away before climbing up the tree. When I got up to the top Franklin was playing with Black's ears.

"how are we going to get by the guard blocking the bridge?" Black asked

"Well the guards switch in an hour and they always talk with each other we could go then." the boy said still playing with Black's ears

"Okay then, but you'll have to get us when it's time to go." I said.

"Why can't I stay here?'

"Because your friends and family will worry."

"Oh, okay." He grouched. He proceeded to pull Black's ears back and watch them straighten up again one more time before climbing down the tree and running away.

"you should sleep we will walk until at least 2200 hours before we can find place to sleep.", Black said.

"Okay." I said.

"Good they're to busy talking to notice us." I said.

"Goodbye, I hope to see you again.", Franklin said

"Goodbye Franklin, see you later." I said as I crawled for the bridge.

"Wait, where are you going I forgot to ask?" He asked.

"We are going to kill a Sientifiko." I said and crawled away across the bridge. When Black and I reached the end of the bridge we ran in the direction of Seteriel.
