The sweet actions of sending one another letters continued on with McKenna and Grayson for the next few days, and into the next two weeks.

Each morning when McKenna arrived to school, there'd be a letter from Grayson, sitting in her locker. And each day after school, there'd be a letter from McKenna, sitting in Grayson's locker.

The letters were always sweet, Grayson's usually consisting of how much he adored McKenna, or how beautiful he thought she looked, and sometimes he'd write her poems. McKenna's typically consisted of her telling Grayson how much she admired him, how sweet she thought he was, and how she couldn't wait to see where there friendship would go.

These letters were a special way of communicating with each other, and although neither of them saw it at the time, it was a way of them showing the love they each had for each other.

There was no doubt that the two teenagers were in love with each other, but they hadn't seen it yet. To them, they were just two people slowly becoming closer friends. Sometimes love is hard to see, but once you discover it, it's a beautiful thing.

And although McKenna dearly enjoyed receiving sweet letters from Grayson every morning, she wanted to take a step further into their friendship. She wanted to talk to Grayson in person, get to know him more. She wanted to sit with him at lunch or study together in the library. All she wanted, was to simply be in his presence.

So, she told Grayson how she felt, and hoped that we was ready to talk to her in person.

The next letter Grayson received from McKenna changed it all for them, in a good way, that is.

Grayson walked through the crowded halls after school, trying to subtly push past everyone so he could get to his locker and head home. He was in a bit of a rush because Ethan wasn't in school, so he felt somewhat lonely without his twin, and this made him want to leave school even faster.

Once arriving to his locker, he quickly put in the combination, then grabbed his books, and another letter from McKenna, as he always does. He held his textbooks closely to his chest, with the letter in his pocket as he hurriedly walked out to his car.

When Grayson arrived to his car, he decided to read the letter right away, since no one was with him. He threw his backpack in the backseats, locked the car doors, and then slowly unfolded the letter, eager to see what McKenna had written him today.

Dear mystery boy,

I must say, I've thoroughly enjoyed sending you letters, and receiving letters from you these past two weeks. Each morning I arrive to school, I always have a smile on my face because I'm excited to see what you have written. And each time I get done reading what you wrote, my heart is full and I'm always joyful.

You have a way with words like nothing I've ever seen before, mystery boy. There's something about the way you write and form your letters and poems, that is so special about you.

You truly have a special talent, mystery boy.

I know you're scared of actually talking to me in person, and I promised you we wouldn't have to rush anything, but honestly, I'm ready to talk to you in person.

Are you?

I want to be in your presence. I want to hear your voice and listen to you speak to me for hours on end. I want to hang out with you and go out on adventures.

Tell me, mystery boy, are you ready for this too? I don't want to force you into this though, so if you aren't ready, that's okay. Sometimes special things take time to be created, and our friendship is definitely special.

This letter is going to be short and sweet today. I can't wait to spend time with you in person, mystery boy.

The day it happens will without a doubt, be a very special day.

Sincerely,
Sweet Creature

As Grayson concluded reading the letter, he noticed a small sheet of paper taped at the bottom of the letter, folded neatly. Curious, he removed the small slip of paper, and unfolded it to reveal what was held inside.  On the paper, a phone number was written down, along with a small note.

Mystery boy,

If you did decide to take me up on my offer, call me as soon as you get done reading the letter.

- Sweet Creature

Grayson nervously let out a sigh, debating on whether or not he wanted to call McKenna. He wanted to, but he was scared. He was always scared of the world and what others really thought of him. What did he have to fear though? All along, McKenna had not judged him, nor made him feel like he had to pretend someone he was not. She liked him for who he really was, and that gave Grayson reassurance, and a feeling of acceptance.

He looked out his car window, noticing he was the only car left in the school parking lot, and made a decision he knew he would not regret.

With shaky and sweaty hands, he picked up his phone, and slowly began dialing the number on the slip of paper. His heart was quickly beating as he listened to the phone ring, wanting to hear her voice already.

Finally, after what felt longer than it really was, a voice answered on the other line.

"Hello?" Grayson answered.

"Grayson?" The girl asked.

As soon as he heard the girl's voice,  his body was immediately filled with joy, and was glad he pushed his fears aside.

"McKenna," he smiled, the biggest, brightest smile he ever had, even though McKenna couldn't see.

On the other side of the phone, McKenna smiled the biggest smile too, and had never felt so happy, than she did in this moment.

"Hi mystery boy," she happily said.

"Hi, Sweet Creature," He cheerily replied.

Who would've ever thought one phone call would change two people's lives?
