I Dont Care..Or Do I?

{Zane's POV}

My work life wasn't really important, i just go there and do my job. I know a lot of people do what they call "follow their dreams" or whatever but sometimes thats not the case. I walk home but kawaii~chan wasn't there, i wondered why but shook it off later.

*RING RING*
I hear my phone ring in the kitchen. Aphmau is calling me. I pick up the phone.

Why would she call me? And why at this time?

"Hello?"

"Hey Zane did you see Kawaii~chan last night?"She asks. She has a sort of concerned tone in her voice.

"Um no i didn't see her. Why? Did she not come home last night or something?" I ask. Now i'm a little worried. What if she didn't get home safe? What happened?

I don't understand why i care in the first place. Im ZANE, full of evil and cold to the core, why should i care if she didn't show up last night, thats not my problem.

"Uh, Katelyn! Zane doesn't know either!" I hear rustling, she must be moving the phone a bit. And what does she mean I don't know either?

"Are you serious! Aphmau this isn't good! Shes not picking up her phone! Shes been at work all night!" Katelyn is freaking out in the background. I can tell that something wasn't right. Kawaii~chan was missing.

"Ok Zane, please tell me if you see her around ok?" She hangs up the phone. I feel my hands go completely numb, as i drop my phone. It crashes into the ground, i feel my legs throbbing and my head feeling all fuzzy.

Why was i acting this way? Why do i feel like my heart has just been ripped out and broken right in front of me? I thought I didn't care about anyone, no one blood related at least. I cant wrap my head around whats going on, and i cant process these emotions. Will this ever stop? Ever?

"Zane!" Garroth screamed in my face. I jumped back. I guess i wad lost in my stupid emotions.

"Gah! Garroth! What was that for?"i wonder, even though i think i know what he was going to say.

"Did you see the news?" He asked. Not the response i was expecting.

"Um. No, i just got of the phone with Aph." My mind trickles back to our conversation. Until Garroth says these words.

"Someone is holding some customers and workers hostage in the maid cafe! Do you realize what this means!"
