Sunday. My favourite day. Why you may ask? Well sunday is the day that i get to visit my Grandmother at Mountainveiw residents. When my Grandfather passed away, she had asked us to help get her into a home. So we did, and thankfully she loves it there.
After pulling into a guest parking spot, i get out and lock the door. It was good weather today. Not to hot, not to cold. Perfect to take Grandma for a walk. A smile was plastered on my face as i walk in passing the front desk.
"Hi Linda" i give her a small wave while passing "hello Camila, your grandmother is in the main room" she gives me a soft smile.
Heading to the main room i see a lovely old lady sitting on a big comfy chair. Although while on my journy over to her the other elderly talk to me.
"Camila dear, its been so long! How are you?" I look over to my right. A soft smile spreads on my face
"Hi Mrs Raymond, I'm good. How are you? Still winning at bingo?" She shoots put a little laugh
"Always my dear. You get even more beautiful everytime I see you! Has a special man slipped into your life yet?" A hint of curiousity glazed in her eyes
"No not yet. But im sorry to leave our chat short Mrs Raymond. I have to go and talk to my Grandmother" she softly nods "oh do tell Rose to meet me for tea afterwards"
"Sure thing. Ill see you later" and with that i walked over to my Grandmother. Once there i gently pave my hand on her shoulder.
"Good morning Granny" she turns towards me, her smile growing.
"Oh beautiful Camila, let me take a look at you" she stands to get feet and takes both my hands in hers. Looking at me from head to toe, and toe to head. "You look wonderful dear"
My smile widens "so do you Granny. Always beautiful no matter the age" she lets out a soft laugh which is music to my ears. "Granny its nice outside, would you like to go and walk around? I have stuff to fill you in on. "
"I would love to" we link arms and head towards the buildings garden. "So Camila, whats the gossip"
It was times like these i treasure. Having my Grandmother around to talk to, to tell secrets to. She's my best friend, one of a kind. She is the one person who really gets and understands me, and that's what always made us who we are.
"I caught mom cheating on dad Saturday morning. Momrnts later dad walked in and saw it as well. Granny ive never seen him so angry. But what got me is that she was already packed. She had a bag full of get stuff" she simply sighs after i explain the story.
"I've never liked her. She was alright at the beginning, but then she turned into a bitch" she says bluntly. No holding back "but no need to worry Camila, your father is a smart man. He is my son after all, games after his mother. He's going to do whats best for you, and for hinself. Remember that" she was always the wise one at family events. Telling everyone how it is, and how to fix it. "Now past that. I need to tell you. There was this boy-" i simply groan a little
"Granny" she softly laughs. "Camila shut up and let me finish. So there was this boy, he looked you age. Very handsome and tall boy. I didnt catch his name though. He helped me walk around a bit. He was very sweet. I think you might like him"
"And why is that Granny?" She scoffs
"Because, hes fit, handsome, good manners, and get this. I bet he's great doing other things as well" she winked. To say the least i was confused before it hit me what she meant. "Granny!"
