Um. I made this because I was heavily inspired by Oscar Pistorius, for, since he was 11 months, had no real legs like the rest of modern able-bodied society. Yet, he was given "fake" legs, and, even more, "blades". He is now one, or is, the fastest man in the world. And, without legs. The video is to the side.
Emi Ibarazaki from the game Katawa Shoujo is a physically disabled girl, much like Oscar. Why? She has no real legs either. After a car crash, she had her legs amputated and, even before then, she loved running just as much as she did after the result. Getting "blades" like Oscar did, she became known in Japan as a track star.
But, why am I telling you this? Could or why would it relate to me? Because I know at least of 60 or more people related to me, or friends, that have almost lost their legs.
Yet, how could it be ME directly? Because I have scars on my legs that, after much stress, cause me to collapse. Once I fall, I am like any other disabled leg person. The exception, I have legs. One day, they may cause a fatal fail and I may have to get them amputated. Who knows?
I'm not looking for pity or trying to fit in. I'm simply stating why everytime I see a disabled person I react how I do. I may not show it, but, it certainally shows through my emotions.
This story will have me named as Emi Rose. I'll look like the original Emi, except, have brown eyes. The personality will be slightly to majorly different.
For my coaches, track team, and family.
This is how I became known as "Ground Zero Ace" to my track family and blood-related family. (With real legs.) Enjoy my story of my greatest fear.---
Chapter 1
Emi's POV
"Emi! Wait up already!" I stopped, looking over my shoulder.
My friend, Kaylee, ran up to me, stopping in front of me and panting.
"Heesh girl!" She exclaimed. "You walk too fast. Slow down a bit, will ya?"
I just stared at her through my glasses.
"Kaylee, you know I can't go slow. If I did, people would think it's the end of speed."
It was true. Last time I did something slowly, a teacher freaked out and gave me detention.
Kaylee leaned against the fence. We were walking out of the girl's locker rooms when she caught up.
"Yeah well...whatever." She finally sighed out. Then, our agility coach, Mr.Stone, came out.
"One lap!" He barked out. Everybody else started as I walked over to him.
See, since I was the second fastest on the entire track team, and had the most endurance, he would assign me a certain number and time to beat.
"Rose, go in lane seven and around the track ten times in five minutes or less. Coach Parker will time you. Start at the gate then jog to where he is." He really stressed "jog" didn't he?
I just nodded, Stone giving me the okay to go on. After making it to Parker, I noticed everyone on the field watching me. They always do this...
"Ready?" My sprinting coach asked. I nodded, getting into position without the blocks. I always hated the blocks...
"And...go."
Once told, I took three steps as slow as a turtle. It was noted that I always did this. Then, I ran like hell's fire on the loose.
