Savannah POV
I open my eyes slowly, groaning as I realize how early it is. Today is my first day of school technically. I signed up to be one of the orientation leaders. It looks good on a college transcript, especially when you want to become a teacher.
I rub my face as I check my phone.
7:06
I have to be there at 8:00. I throw my phone back on the corner of my bed and slowly sit up adjusting to the brightness coming from my windows. I put my feet down on the ground and I land on something firm but squishy.
My eyes go wide and I am alarmed as my eyes focused on a body laying on my floor. Once my eyes are focused I realize that it is just Shawn.
I let my heartbeat slow to normal and nudge his side. He groans and rolls over. I smile as I see the outline of the pillow on his skin.
"Shawn," I whisper.
"What?" He whispers back, he's so cute in the morning.
"I have to leave so you can have the bed." I say standing up. He puts his arms out like he wants me to pick him up. I sigh as I grab his calloused hands and pull him up enough to push him on the bed.
"Have fun with the freshman." He whispers before falling back asleep. I smile and grab my cloths.
If you are wondering, Shawn and I have been bestfriends since we we're 7. I moved here to Canada and attended the same school as him. I was sat next to him because our first names fell that way on the attendance chart. Anyway, I am originally from Nashville and acquired a small southern accent. All the students made fun of me for it and Shawn was the only one that didn't. One day one of the most cruel kids, Matthew, stole my cowgirl lunchbox and decided to make up a lame song about me and sing it in front of everyone during lunch. I cried and Shawn stood up and yelled at Matthew.
"Stop being a doo doo head and be quiet because you suck at singing!" He yelled out as he grabbed my lunchbox from his hand. He walked over and handed it to me and sat with me at lunch. I invited him over later that day and he agreed and that is how we became friends.
I finish putting on my makeup and walk out of my bathroom. Shawn was lightly snoring, crashed out on my bed. His feet were hanging off the edge of and he had goosebumps on his arms from not having a blanket. I sighed as I walked over to him, I glanced at myself one last time in the mirror on my wall.
My strawberry blonde hair ( which is natural by the way ) was in a ponytail and my bangs were clipped back and my make up was pretty nuetural. My black "Team Leader" shirt was tight and my jean shorts met my fingertips.
I looked back at Shawn and grabbed his feet lightly and threw them on the bed. I then grabbed my blanket that was pushed to the wall and threw it over him. As I walked past him I felt his hand grab mine.
"Do you want a ride?" He asked with his eyes still closed.
"No, Lana is picking me up. Were partners." I said softly.
"Ok, can I pick you up when you're done?" He asked opening his eyes looking up at me.
"If you'd like." I smiled. He nodded.
"I'll see you at 12:30 then." He smiled. I nodded as he let go of my hand. He sighed and closed his eyes again. "Have a good time." He whispered.
"Sweet dreams Mendes." I whispered back.
I grabbed my black flip flops on my way out and headed downstairs.
"Good morning sweetie." My mom cooed from the kitchen. I entered with a smile and grabbed a coffee mug.
