Savannah POV
Shawn and I leave tomorrow for his American leg of the Illuminate tour.
Aaliyah ended up spending the weekend with us, under Shawn's request. He hates to admit it but he really does start to miss his little sister. I find it incredibly sweet. Almost sad, I can't help if he will ever be that way when we have a family. If he wants a family.
I am currently sitting at my mothers coffee table, having some coffee and chatting before I leave again. I have seen my family a lot while I was away. They came to me at least once a month. We never ever wanted to become separated.
"How's Shawn?" She asks moving her cup onto a coaster.
"He's good, we have been spending some time with Aaliyah." I say nodding. While Aaliyah was with Shawn I stayed a his apartment. Aaliyah made comments about us moving, after she got over being mad at Shawn.
He became overly protective when he saw that Zac was texting her non stop. I got the impression Aaliyah told Zac to stop texting because her phone really didn't go off much after that. I tried to talk to Aaliyah about it whenever Shawn wasn't around but she just shut me out. I even had a talk with Shawn about respecting his sisters personal life, he didn't want her reading our message did he? I hope not.
"That's good. I know it's important to Shawn that you and his family remain close." My mother states sipping her drink.
"Remain?" I ask out of curiosity.
"Karen mentioned that he worried that you and his family's relationship would slip a bit since you were gone for so long." I nod in understanding. We did have a conversation about that when he came to visit me. I assured him that I spoke to Aaliyah daily and that I called his mom after I called mine every Sunday night.
"Shawn stop." I hushed him. He was rambling.
"I just don't want to closeness we had to fall apart." He whispered.
"It's not. Shawn look." I leaned over and grabbed my phone. I showed him the messages I had with Aaliyah. He scrolled through my phone.
"You talked to her more than me!" He whined. I laughed and took my phone back. I switched it to my phone app and showed him my recent calls. His name was cluttered all over it but in between his name was my moms and then his.
"You call my mom?" He asked. "I don't even do that, I text her." He smiled.
"I call you're mom and talk to her after I call my mom." I said taking my phone back.
"Why?" He asked.
"When I would go to your house for dinner, and after I would do the dishes with your mom while you and Aaliyah would play a video game or post a video." I said revealing a secret to him. He nodded for me to continue. "Your mom and I would have conversations about any and everything. I love to get her insight. I love how her brain works. I love to pick at it." I said laughing. He laughed too. "Shawn you don't need to worry, it sounds like I talk to your family more than you do." I smiled at him. He leaned down and kissed me softly.
"Are you excited about going on tour with him?" My mom asked pulling me out of the flashback I was reliving.
"Totally, I want to experience what he does. Understand why he loves it so much." I smile. I feel my phone start buzzing and I see Shawn is calling me. "Speak of the devil." I smile as I place my phone to my ear. All I hear his deep breaths, like he has been running for miles.
"Shawn?" I ask my eyes becoming wide.
"Savannah." He spits out.
"Are you okay?" I ask standing up and frowning at my mom. She nods and shoos me away.
