He hung from chains connected to the ceiling, his toes barely, painstakingly, touching the ground. His hands were bound together tightly and connected to the chain. He didn't even have the strength to lift his head.
His once handsome face now held deep purple bruises, his beautiful eyes were bloodshot, and his round, plump lips were busted and bloody. There was absolutley no recognizing Brandon McKinney.
They caught him in Mexico, throwing a bag over his head that had been pre-soaked in chloroform. In less than 10 seconds he was out. He awoke in a room, similar to the interrogation rooms he regularly worked in, tied to a chair, which had been chained to the ground.
Soon, 3 men came in, two younger, stronger guys, and one older man, the obvious ring leader. He was asked questions about his job and his business in Mexico. To which he didn't answer. In result, he was beaten severly for several hours and strung in the air like an animal, waiting to be slaughtered. But, he knew the risks, and he knew what would happen if he got caught.
The squeaky door tore him away from his thoughts. The soft footsteps of the older man, "boss", is all they referred to him as, approached. His head was lifted violently with a wooden cane smacked under his chin.
"Are you going to answer my questions Brandon?"
Brandon couldnt even open his eyes, much less speak due to the buildup in his throat.
"Hmmm?... if not, you know the consequence."
Brandon tried swallowing, the copper taste of blood swarming his mouth.
"Tell me your business in Mexico, and tell me why the FBI has agents down here?"
Brandon swallowed, wincing as the blockage slide painfully down his throat. He fought within to gather enough strengh to look at the old man. The two younger guys stood nearbye, guns locked and loaded. He knew these were his final moments. He had committed his life to the bureau, and he was proud of his accomplishments. His mind jumped to his wife back at home and wondered what she was doing. His last thought before the gun sounded was his unborn child. As the gun boomed in his ear, and blood poured from his skull, he prayed silently for his wife, hoping she'd find happiness somewhere else in the world, and hoping she'd have the strength to go on and raise their child without him.
