Arthur sat at his desk, sketching out some designs for something. What was that something? Nothing really. Just doodles. Scribbles. Lines that might make a light light up in the inventors head.
It had been a while since something had come to mind to create. It bothered Arthur greatly. He had to think of something, and fast. If he wasn't to come up with something new soon, his works would get too boring and common, meaning no one would bother buying anymore. So no buyers, no money. Money was very important to him. Without it, he wouldn't be able to grab his supplies he would need to make something new and extraordinary. He also needed to supply his partner as well. The two live together and work together. So if they don't have money, the two would be in some trouble. They wouldn't be able to pay the bills, buy food and necessities, purchase personal needs, and so on.
Arthur had talked with his partner Angelo about their 'little' problem. The Portuguese man had panicked at first, but decided he would find another job to support them. It was much appreciated.
Arthur may or may not have been missing Angelo's presence, but he knew that he would be back by seven the latest. Once he would return, the two would eat dinner, talk about plans, then help each other out before heading off to bed.
Alone, the Englishman groaned before slamming his head down on the spruce desk before him, nearly causing his special glasses to shatter. He sat there for a moment, not moving, not thinking, not blinking, nothing. It seemed like eternity before he raised his head and smacked it back down and repeated the process again, cussing with each new bang.
Once finished, he sat up and glared at the ceiling and began to cuss at it. Why? Simple. He needed something to get at.
Now Arthur wasn't a man that would lash out at anyone without a reason, but right now, he was sick of having no ideas and being brain dead. He looked over at the clock and watched the second hand move about and tick with each movement. It was the only sound in the room beside his breathing.
Then it clicked.
Arthur sat up straighter, pulled out a new sheet of paper and a pen, and got down to work.
This would be Angelo and his best invention yet.
Sure no one but him and Angelo would see it, but so be it! For it would do them greatly.

After sometime, Arthur was pulled out of his work progress on the invention by Angelo asking him what he was creating. It startled Arthur, but he smiled at the Portuguese man that had been at his side since he could remember."Angelo! You're in time to help! You won't believe what we are going to make!" Arthur exclaimed cheerfully. Angelo raised a eyebrow and slowly nodded. "Alright, but... what are we making exactly?" He questioned. From his position, he couldn't quite see everything that Arthur had already done, so it looked odd to him.
"A time machine!"
"...what."
Arthur placed his arm around her shoulder to the two of the two people cAngelo's neck and began to gesture with his hands and spoke fast with exitmwnt.
"I know that you shouldn't mess with time, but think of the possibilities! We could go to the future and see the next great thing or see if we got into the Inventor Masters and have a painting of us like the others!" His smile went bigger and Angelo feared that Arthur's face would crack. "Or we could go to the past and see the first amazing machine built and marvel at how the inventor created it and give him an applaud! The possibilities are endless my dear friend!" Arthur exclaimed as he unwrapped his arm and stood in front of Angelo excitedly. "What do you think?"
"I think you've drank too much beer." He deadpanned. "And yeah, you're right. We shouldn't mess with time. It could change history and change us! Everything we know would be gone and replaced with something completely different and unknown!"
Arthur's shoulders dropped and his joyful face turned to sober. "You're right.... but still. It would be amazing..." He grumbled and kicked at a spare wrench that he had placed on the floor. His eyes were downcast and he refused to look at Angelo in the eye.
Angelo sighed.
"You're too cute to argue. Well, fuck the rules. Aren't they made to be broken? How else would we learn and grow if didn't? We've broken plenty, so who's to say that this would be any different?" Angelo knew he would regret it, but he didn't want to see his friend upset. It made him upset that he was the cause 'I know I'm going to regret this... but, anything for Arthur. He's my world.' "So let's do it!"
Arthur's mood switched back faster than a screw being screwed into place. "Yes!"
Arthur showed Angelo the design and the two got to work.
The time machine soon was nearly finished, and the wheels were already spinning together in sync, the dial hole was in place and was ready to be used, and everything was almost complete! All that the duo had to do was to make the time for where they wanted to go.
"Angelo, would you be a dear and hand me a screwdriver? I left it on the anvil." Arthur teased in a sing song voice.
"Of course sweetheart!" Angelo replied with the same tone.
Angelo picked up the tool and handed it to Arthur. Arthur thanked him and finished his work.
It was finally complete.
The British man and the Portuguese man were thrilled to see it light up and to see everything working and moving perfectly. The duo wrapped their arms around each other's neck and marbled at the work.
"Well Angelo. Ready to go?" Arthur asked as he turned his head to look at Angelo who was smiling down at him.
"Yes. Nervous, but si. I am ready." Angelo said, not sounding very convincing. "If you don't want to go, then you don't have to come, Angy. I understand." Arthur said softly. Angelo blushed and shook his head so Arthur wouldn't see his pink stained cheeks. "S-si. I mean, no. I will come with you. After all, we've been together through everything and have never left each other."
Arthur beamed at Angelo.
"Thank you. Now let's get going," and with that, the two inventors entered the device and closed the door behind them a bit rough to make sure it would stay and not rip open and cause them to fly out into the time continuum.
What they didn't know, was by doing this action, it caused a gear to turn fall out and caused another to take its place...
