Stephan shuddered. This creature was useless to him. He would get nowhere and all he needed was to get this cuff off his wrist and out of here.

"Fine, you're not going to talk, I don't care. Just help me get this cuff off. You're of the Faer world right?"

The girl looked at him like he was diseased. "What the hell are you talking about? What's a Faer?"

"Shit. You're kidding, right? You really don't know? Great." He could tell by her reaction that she was telling the truth. As nice as she was to look at, he had to get out of there. Plus, her attitude wasn't something he wanted to be around. Someone who didn't know his world was useless to him.

"Okay, so we have little time. Get up." They both stood. She was just over five feet to his five eleven frame. It made for an awkward captive experience. "Are you kidding?"

"Listen asshole, I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I don't know where I am. I was working this morning, went out back to take the trash out and I was hit over the head. And it hurts like hell!"

Stephan's eyes raised. Feisty. "Where? Show me."

She turned her head and pointed to a dark patch on the back of her crown. Stephan sighed. If she had been Faer she would have known what to do to stop the bleeding, instinctually.

He placed a hand on her head but she jerked away from him. "What the hell?"

"Just stay still for a minute, alright?"

The girl looked at his face, realized that he wasn't going to do any harm and turned. Stephan placed his hand on her head, thought through a closing spell. The glow of power flowed through his hand and into her cut. The wound stopped bleeding immediately and sealed shut. Stephan moved his hand off her head, she felt around her head and looked up at him.

"What the hell are you?"

"Something you don't care about. Come on, let's get you back to your world." Stephan moved toward the window while she moved to the door. He looked over at her when the chain stopped her from moving. "Oh, you think they'll just let us leave? Come on sunshine, we leave by window. If I'm lucky I can use these chains to propel us." Stephan waved a hand over the window and it disappeared.

"If you can do that, why the heck are you still here?"

He rolled his eyes, "It's a long story and one I'm not about to tell you. Just get over here so we can get out."

"You don't have to tell me twice." She lifted herself up to the edge of the window and stood in the opening. It was a hole in the wall about seven feet by four feet. She looked down. "Oh boy."

"Now you see my problem?" Below them they could see nothing but ocean and rocks.

"Were not going to jump in to that water are we?"

"Damn right we are."

"No! I'd rather take my chances with whatever is behind that door!"

Stephan took a hold of the chain, rolled it up toward him while staring down in to the face of the girl. He pulled tight which pressed her next to him. "What's your name?"

The girl's breath came quick, her heart began to beat irregularly and her voice cracked when she spoke. "Kira."

"Nice to meet you Kira." With the last words pushed out of his mouth Stephan pushed the girl over the threshold.
