The blonde-haired mage smiled at her best friend, the fire dragonslayer, Natsu Dragneel.
"Well, I need to go home, Natsu." She said, waving goodbye at her friend as she walked past him and towards her apartment.
The pink-haired male smiled back at her, then turned the other way, his exceed following behind him. He flew right next to Natsu as me munched on a fish, mumbling something out about how good it was.
Natsu placed his hands on the back his neck, then turned to his little buddy.
"Hey, Happy?"
"Yeah Natsu?
"Do you think Luce was acting weird?" He asked, recalling the strange behaviour of the celestial mage.
"Lushe's always weird. Why should you care?" He said, already wanting to drop the conversation.
"I don't know," he mumbled, "yeah, you're right." He said, brushing it off.
... Meanwhile...
The blonde mage opened the door to her apartment, then putting her apartment key in her back pocket. She walked inside and closed the door behind her, locking it.
As soon as she walked in, she searched the whole house for windows and doors, then locked them all with a simple spell. As soon as she was done, she walked into her room and locked the door behind her. She walked to her window and cast the spell on it, then pulled down her courtains.
She sighed and sat on her bed, looking straight at the wall, then whispered, "I never thought they would come and find me..."
She then stood up and walked to the plain wall, grazing it carefully with her slender finger. She continued to so until it started to pull back, little bricks dispersing to reveal a secret door.
She twisted the doorknob slowly, it opened to reveal a small space, probably three feet wide and deep, but six feet tall. On the floor stood a single step of stairs, a small chest sat gracefully on it. The chest was probably average size, it was wooden and was covered with blue leather, it had rubies and emeralds embedded on the sides. It also had 10 very strong spelled locks in the middle, sealed by a spell and magic password.
She stared at it for a few seconds before taking her celestial keys and detaching them from her belt, she crouched down, taking them all out and putting each one in their respectful lock. One by one, she twisted them and the locks opened, allowing her access to whatever .was in the chest.
She sighed before opening the top. Inside laid 17 keys, but unlike the celestial keys, these keys were black and white, made out of an unbreakable material. Each one had a specific jewel on the top, letting you know which was which, but those jewels also had a symbol car bed into it.
Lucy stood up again and walked to her desk, taking a pocket knife from it. She walked back to the chest, but stopped at the piece of carpet in front of the secret entrance. She crouched in front of the carpeted floor and took the pocket knife, she started to rip it, tearing apart that square of carpet.
She stopped once the wooden, trap door was revealed. Also sealed by a spell, she chanted out words in another language, the trap door made a click noise, signalling that it was open.
She leaned into it and pulled the knob, dust covered the air as the door flew open. It had been a very long time since she had opened this door, so it was normal that it would be a little dusty.
Lucy coughed, swatting away the dusty air. Once it cleared, Lucy looked down at the dark room, shivers ran down her spine, but she walked down the stairs anyway.
When she got to the bottom, she searched the walls next to her for the light switch. She finally felt it, then switched it, the lights slowly all turned on, revealing the room Lucy keeps down there.
It was 5 times the size of her room, so it was pretty big. All the walls were pure white, paintings and shelves hanging off them.
All except one.
The wall in the very middle had cut pieces of newspaper and book pages pinned to the wall, blocking your view of the whole wall. Little pieces of rope traveled from one pin to the other, signalling the time reference.
Every single piece of newspaper and book page was information on Midnighttale Wing. A dark guild known to kidnap and sell wizards as human slaves after they take away their power in every way, but other than that, no one knows anything about them, so Lucy did some research.
When she first fled from the Heartfilia Conzern, she was being followed and hunted down by Midnightale Wing, who needed her for something, but she managed to get them off her trail and flee to Magnolia, where she joined Fairy Tail.
They have been looking and searching for Lucy for a while, but have not been able to find her, so Lucy stayed in Magnolia, tracking down Midnighttale Wing and their every move, but now it seems they're on their way to Magnolia.
The room was cozy, kinda like a normal apartment, but dustier.
Lucy then walked up the stairs to her apartment again, then took the chest with the mysterious keys. She took them down the stairs with her and set them down on the table, looking at them with worry etched on her face. She took the one with a blue sapphire in it, then brought it up to her forehead.
The minute it came in contact with her skin, it started to radiate a light, which spread to Lucy's forehead, connecting invisible dots on her forehead. Once it was done, a symbol was left of her skin, but as soon as she removed the key, it disappeared.
"Midnighttale Wing," she said, looking as determined as ever.
"You will not hurt my family. "
