"On your first day, they're gonna judge you. They're gonna profile you. They're going to do anything possible to try and figure you out, but you'll survive. I know you will."My older sister, Emily, once said to me. Her words rang clearly through my mind as I sipped my tea on the plane to Virginia.
Whenever I took trips from London to Virginia, my mind wandered to places it should not go. Eight hour flights are quite boring, and when you have a mature and intelligent brain such as my own, it takes going into your own world to enthuse yourself.
I closed my eyes after putting my headphones in, maybe some music would calm my nerves.
~~~
I tasseled my hair in attempt to make it appear neater, my sleep must have ruined the small waves I had, and knotted it up a bit.
I stood at the end of baggage claim, waiting for my luggage to pass through. I waited nearly five minutes before I found my bags.
Okay, now, to find .. oh, shit.. what was her name again? Paisley? Patricia, PENELOPE! That's what it was.
I vaguely remembered what she looked like, she had visited Emily one time a couple years ago.
"Sophia! Aw, I missed you so much. Oh, I know we only met the one day there but I've known your sister forever so I feel as though I've know you forever!" A voice came from behind me, and as I turned around I was embraced in a comforting hug by Miss Penelope Garcia.
"Hi! Penelope, oh it's so great to see you! I can't thank you enough for coming to pick me up!" I laughed as we parted. She smiled once more.
"A friend of mine, from the BAU, he came along with me, he should be back in a second he went to the bathroom." She sheepishly admitted.
"Okay, I'm excited to meet him." I spoke with a smile.
"Well babygirl, is Prentiss' sister here yet? Just got a text from JJ, we've gotta case."
A man, he was tall, probably around 6'2 or something like that, he had beautiful dark skin, and was quite built. He was beautiful, honestly.
"Hi, you must be Sophia, Emily's sister. It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Derek Morgan." He extended his hand out to me, and
I shyly shook it."Yeah, hah, thats me. Um, if you need to go, I can call a cab or something.. I don't want to be a burden." I shrugged.
"Oh nonsense!" Penelope gasped. "Besides, our supervisor would like to speak with you." She smiled. I started to fidget with my hands. Oh dear.
"Don't be nervous, I promise he's all bark and no bite. And his bark isn't to scary either." Derek chuckled at Penelope.
"Well, let's get going."
~~
The car ride was nearly twenty minutes long, and it was filled with humor between Penelope and Derek. I couldn't help but pick at my cuticles as we drove, I was so worried about meeting Agent Hotchner.
"Okay we're here!" Penelope chirped.
Her and Derek rushed me into the building.
"Hey, who is this pretty young lady?" and older man asked. He was a bit older then me, and he had some gray and white hairs through his black head of hair. I smiled timidly.
I extended my hand to him, uncertain of who he was.
"I'm Sophia Prentiss." I introduced myself.
"Oh oh oh. Emily's sister, it's wonderful meeting you. My name is David Rossi." He smiled kindly, and shook my hand.
"Sophia, this is Jennifer Jareau." Derek introduced me to a beautiful young blonde woman. She had beautiful, bright, ocean blue eyes and beautifully long eyelashes. She had a small figure, and seemed so loving and inviting just by the smile she greeted me with. She reminded me a bit of my Aunt Melissa.
"Hi! You must be Sophia, I've heard a lot about you. You are quite the impressive young lady." She smiled, extending her hand to me. I smiled shyly and shook her hand.
"Yes, I'm Sophia. Thank you, I've heard many great things about you, it's nice to put a name to a face." I chuckled."And, this is Dr. Spencer Reid." Penelope said, introducing me to possibly the most stunningly attractive man I've ever seen.
He was bit awkward, honestly.
But he had beautiful Caramel colored hair, and had a thin figure, much like my own. He wore a collared shirt with a sweater vest over it. He looked .. gorgeous. His brown eyes seemed to melt my own.
"Hi, um, it's, uh, nice to meet you. I've.. I've heard lots about you." He said. He seemed so.. timid. And seemed as though he didn't know what to say or how to say it.
"It's nice to meet you, my sister has told me a lot about you." I said, trying to seem more confident then he was, and failing miserably.
"Listen kid, when Sophia joins the team in a few months, you're going to have competition." Derek joked, placing his hand on Spencer's back.
"I'll bring you up to Hotch." Derek said to me, grabbing my hand and leading up a small flight of stairs.
Oh, boy... this is gonna be fun.
Spencer~~
Sophia. Sophia.
She was.. stunning. Her long brown hair landed right below her breasts, and her bangs covered her face a bit. I could tell she was exhausted from her flight, her composure and slightly tussled hair gave that away.
But despite everything going on in our building right now, all I could think about was her beautiful brown eyes, and the soft touch of her hand, and the daisy like scent that filtered through my nose a I greeted her. I hope she didn't think I was weird, that's the last thing I would want.
She had to be the most beautiful girl, not only to walk through this building, but that I had ever laid my eyes on.
Is it.. is it bad to have these thoughts? She could be my co-worker, and she's one of my best friends younger sisters. I am twenty seven, and she can't be more then twenty herself.
"I think pretty-boy has a crushhhhh." Derek's voice rang from behind me, causing JJ, Penelope, Rossi, and himself to laugh.
"I, I do not." I sighed.
This was gonna be quite eventful.
I should have known they would profile it out of me, it's what they do! Why do I have to be so transparent?
"Might wanna pull yourself together, kid. Hotch would be extremely displeased to see the new genius with the old genius." He joked once more. I know if anything ever happened, which it won't because I'm not one to date pretty girls like herself, but if it did, Hotch would have strict rules about it. He would let us, but there would be rules.
"Get it together pretty boy, here she comes." Morgan joked.
And she walked down, Hotch on her side.
She wore black skinny jeans, black heeled boots, and a white, form fitting, button up shirt. She looked so.. so beautiful.
"I'm glad you were able to stop in, Sophia. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I'm delighted to say as soon as your official training is over, you will be on this team. You can consider your spot officially reserved." He smiled brightly at her, and his hand rubbed her back.
I couldn't help a pang of jealousy hit me hard, right in the heart.
"Thank you so so much. I'll be in contact with you soon, and transfer all my previous work and records over to you." She smiled brightly.
"I look forward to hearing from you shortly."
He waved her off, and Penelope escorted her out.
Hotch and I both watched as she walked away. I think he was more then happy to have a great worker with as much experience as herself on the team, and I was just crushing. Hard.
