Camping Trip

Julie's POV:
"Have fun babe" Kira said as I left her car. We exchanged the basic "i love you" and "love you too" and then she leaves. A camping trip. With Ali. And KC. Sadly no Claire but hey. KC. Yay. I look around and I see Ali. With Johnny. I walk up to them and introduce myself. "Hi! My name is Julie" I say, putting my hand up as a hi wave. He says nothing. "Ali and I are in the same class. You know she's pretty talkative if you ever get tired of that 'brooding silently false macho' thing you got going. You know you might actually have a legit conversation then" I say, completely in a joking way. He laughs. I can make anyone laugh. It's my job. "My 'silently false macho' thing seems to be attracting you talkative cute girls so I don't know seems to be working pretty well for me" Johnny says. Ali smiles at me. "Oh cute are we? Niners cute or cute enough to break that brooding spirit?" I say teasingly. "You are cute enough to break any man's spirit Julie Bennet" KC says, appearing in front of me while placing his hat on me, covering my face. "So are you. Any brooding man is lucky to have you" I say to KC. He fakes a hurt heart and then laughs. "Hey I'm KC" KC says to Johnny, a little too enthusiastic. "Hey! I'm leaving" Johnny mocks as he walks away. Ali and I turn to see him walk. He winks at us. "Thanks for breaking the awful awkwardness!" Ali thanks me. "No problem. Just thought he needed a laugh. Everyone does right?" I say, smiling. "You know, when you smile after making a joke, your dimples get so deep" KC tells me. I smile slyly and say "Deep enough to break your spirit?". He smiles and bends to my head level. "Definitely" he says, then takes his hat and walks away. I look down and then turn at him as he goes to see a friend. "Wow. You guys are so meant to be" Ali squeals. "I just hope he doesn't break mine" I say, fighting a smile.

KC's POV:
"Julie's cute eh?" David says to me on the bus.  "Cuter than cute" I respond. "True that. I was thinking of asking her on a date" he tells me. I turn cold. "Why? You barely know her!?" I ask. He laughs and says "Today I will". He's off smiling in his own world. I don't talk to him the rest of the bus ride. I look over at Julie who's with Ali, laughing. Those cute dimples. Her amazing face. How could David ask her out when he barely knows how amazing she actually is. No. I'm not going to let him.

We are at the site. Ali leaves Julie alone. Julie looks a little lonely. I was about to walk to her when David does. He talks to her and they laugh. Usually she's the one who does that. With me. He pulls a hair out of her face. She seems a little competitive with this flirting. I should go fizzle it out. I walk up to them. "Hey, are you guys Herbivores or Obnivores?" I ask. "I don't know about David but I'm completely a Carnivore" Julie says with a wink. To David. She walks ahead of us. David bites his lips. I slap his chest. "What? Come on she's flirting that way. Why can't I?"
"Because she's just trying to beat you at flirting"
"Well if she does, then I hope her winning involves me taking her to the Sweetheart Dance. You know, it's coming up. And I am definitely hitting that"
"You say it as if she was baseball"
"Not a ball. But definitely second base" David says and then slaps me on the back. He catches up with Julie. I stop. I am completely disgusted and angry at David. I have to do something. Later we all stop for a bonfire. David goes to his friends. I sit with Julie. She's all smiley. "What's up?" I ask her. She blushes and smiles. "David has been flirting with me. I think he's going to ask me out" she says. I stop smiling. "Well if he does what would you say?" I ask.
She senses my dissaproving tone. "I don't know. You know I don't usually get asked out very often" she says. "Yeah because the guys who like you never actaully do" I say harshly. Julie's jaw drops. I realize what I just said. "No wait Julie!" I say as she walks into her tent. She zipped it up. I groan and kick the dirt.
I see David with his friends.
"She's been throwing herself at me. Telling me she looves meat. I mean for such a hot babe I would have thought she would play the hard to get card. I mean, for KC she's definitely hard to get" He says and then everyone laughs. "At least I don't talk about her like she's an object" I say suddenly. Everyone looks at me. "Excuse me?" David asks. "I mean, do you even know her favorite book? What she hates to eat? How she can make you feel when you are sad? No, you don't. You just know you want to get in her pants. Well grow up, because she'll never want a pig like you" I say, getting all up in his face. David pushes me back. I laugh. "Yeah just you wait. Julie needs a man. Not some punk who rides a skateboard and then maybe wear a beanie. Just face it, compared to me, you're nothing" David says. I was about to punch him when someone touches my hand. Soft, delicate. "Wow, nice self imagery. I mean the way you talked to KC as if it was you was amazing. You know since you are just a punk and compared to KC, a piece of nothing. Let's go" Julie says, then pulls me to her tent. We play cards in silence. "Hey, um, thanks for whay you said to David" I thank Julie. She smiles and says "It was not I who defended thy, it was thy who defended me. I heard what you said. That made up for what you said before that" Julie says. I chuckle. "What's so funny?" Julie mockingly says. "What I said. It sounded like I said no guy who likes you likes you for real. But what I meant was that the guys who actually like you, never ask you out" I say. Julie smiles and says "Well they should. I know I'd say yes" she says. I smile deeper. She drop her Queen of Hearts. "You better not have the King" she warns me. "Nope. But I do have the Ace" I say winning the game. She mockingly saying No while I say Yes. "You know the end of this game is usually sealed with a kiss" I say randomly. Julie asks "Ah yeah? Says who?"
"Vikings"
She laughs. "And if I don't?"
"Then you will face the wrath of Connor's moths"
We laugh.
"Well in that case" she says.
She kisses me on the nose.
We laugh after. We hear a bunch of screaming. "Connor finally got back at Johnny!" I yell out happily. Julie laughs and we go to see. Everyone is now being monitored by tents. I'm sharing mine with Connor. Never with David again. I text Julie Goodnight. She sends me XX. I laugh. Wished she kissed me for real.
