Garrett's eyes slowly crept open. The moonlight greeting him. It wasn't even morning yet. He felt warm in his face, like his pillow was squished up against him. He looked up to see a certain zombie. It wasn't a pillow, it was her chest. He rolled his eyes lowering his head back down. She cuddled closer keeping him with her. He could hear her breath, but no heartbeat. She really was dead. The had her legs wrapped around his waist and a hold of his head. He was surely trapped. No point in trying to escape. He figured it was better then a Millia. Those things would crush a man. The room was dark but areas had been illuminated by the moons beams. The sounds of police sirens in the city sang him a lullaby accompanied by the clock ticking. He felt an abnormal amount of safety in her embrace, like it was the only area he was completely protected from danger. He started to think back. Their date at the movie, what would have the kiss been like? It starts to nag at him. Would it have been nice? How long would it have lasted? What would he have tasted? He quickly blocked out those thoughts, as it was too late at night to be worrying about it. He wondered if Zombina was the only house guest he would have. If Ms. Smith would decide to pull a fast one and introduce someone else. Personally he didn't want anyone else. He was perfectly happy with the zombie companion he had with him right now. So far, no issues or mishaps. He thought things couldn't get any better from here. However, a question arose in his mind. How or from where he did not know. Did he love Zombina. It was clearly too early to decide. And if he did it might scare her off. Suddenly he felt a poke at the tip of his head. She had her nose stuffed in Garrets hair. He rolled his eyes smiling. She was quite silly, even in slumber.
Morning came around. Zombina was already out of bed. It wasn't quite like her. Normally she slept in on days like these. He had to go to work today. Getting up he quickly showered and went down stairs in his uniform. There she was, wearing one of his hockey jerseys. A Chicago Blackhawks jersey from 1998. She had her hair wet and slicked back. "Morning." She said. Garret looked dumbfounded. "Um, Zombina, why are you wearing my signed jersey and no pants?" He asks, cocking an eyebrow. "What? It's what I normally do. Besides this smells nice so I decided to wear it today." She said giving a toothy smile. "Im going to work okay? Here's your I.D and a note stating where I am since I can't bring you with me. Lock the doors and if someone calls, ask them to call back. (My parents used to tell me that when I was younger XD) Zombina frowned. "Okay....today's gonna be so boring without you though." She said. Garret pats her on the head. "It's okay. I'll be back to make dinner." He says smiling. Right before he could walk out the door, she spins him around giving him a jump hug. "Aren't you going to eat breakfast first?" She asked. "Ya know, you sound like a housewife when you say it like that." He says laughing ruffling her hair. "I'm sorry but I don't have time. I'll make it up to you somehow. Okay?" She looked up and gave an open grin. "Okay, I'll see you later then" Garret gave a tender smile as he walked out the door.
As soon as he did, Zombina sighed. Thinking of what to do. She hadn't bathed yet. So, she made her way up the stairs into the big bathroom. Preparing herself she climbed into the warm water, relaxing herself. 'You sound like a housewife when you say that.' That phrase ran through her mind, a pink blush crept across her face. "House wife...? No....its way too early to be thinking about that sort of thing. Although that movie date was nice...he's so...kind and gentle...what would I do without him?" She asked herself. She leaned back letting the water embrace her. Falling back asleep. She woke back up not too long later. Getting out she dried off combing her hair back into a slicked style. Again, she returned to her jersey attire. She decided to watch television. Heading back down the stairs into the living room she turned on the television. "Osaka's Demi-human embassy has been completely destroyed by the terrorist organization A.M.E.F, the Anti Monster Extermination Force. This is the third embassy they have bombed, the others located in Washington DC United States, and Hong Kong China. They're motives are clear, to erase all key ambassadors by force. All Demi-Humans in the Osaka area are advised to remain indoors. All Japanese Law Enforcement has been placed on red alert."
She turned off the TV. Closing all windows and doors. For the rest of the day she did not move. When Garret came home he was visibly scared of the darkness surrounding his home as well as the silence. Zombina came rushing out, tears flowing from her eyes. She tackle hugged Garret sobbing into his shirt. He got her to explain what she saw. "Zombina, like I said before. I'll protect you. I promise you. Even if it puts my own life at risk. I don't care. Nothing will stop me." For the night he cuddled her close and watched movies. His arms wrapped around her tummy. His palms analyzing the feeling of the stitching. "I'm here for you Zombina....I promise...." she smiled taking his face into her chest.
