You had been a part of Scott's pack for a while now. Now, while you were friends with pretty much everyone, there was one person you just couldn't seem to talk to. Derek.

You knew Derek was a good guy, but his constant brooding along side with his limited ability to ever smile had really made you question wether if he was even worth talking to.

**********

There was a pack meeting tonight, mind you, the third pack meeting that you'd ever been to. You were still sort of new to the pack, so you automatically tried to become friends with everyone, except for Derek, of course.

Once everyone gathered at Derek's loft, the meeting began as usual, with stiles asking really stupid questions, but it didn't matter. You thought he was still the most adorable thing on the planet. Scott, was of course leading the group; answering everyone's questions and calming down the hyperactive puppies of the group. Derek, like always, was just being mysterious and quiet. All he did was glare at stiles every time he opened his mouth. If Stiles wasn't a part of the pack, you were pretty sure Derek would gladly rip his throat out with his teeth.

"Alright, pack meeting over," Scott said. You had muffled out the sounds as you focused on Derek. Why couldn't he just smile like everyone else? As you did so, you didn't realize that Scott had told everyone the meeting was over.

Everyone had left the loft, leaving you alone with your thoughts. That is, until a husky, yet soft voice mentioned your name. "Y/n?" Questioned Derek. You were sitting on the couch, facing away from him, so you didn't quite see or hear him when he said your name. Derek reached out, standing behind you, gently placing a hand on your shoulder.

The sudden touch made you jump, and just then you realized that there was no one else in the loft but you two. Turning around, you realized Derek was only in a towel, his hair and body dripping wet from water, as he had just gotten out of the shower.

"Um, wait. Where is everyone?" You asked, getting up from the couch. "They left about an hour ago, y/n. I thought you left with them, so I headed for the showers. I didn't realize you'd still be here." Derek said the last few words kind of awkwardly. If he had known that you were still here, he would've dressed himself more appropriately. He walks around the couch, now standing right in front of you. His gaze upon you looked really intense — not in a bad way, but rather a confused way.

You gulp a little as you look into his eyes, the light of the moon reflecting in his green eyes. "I'm — I'm sorry. I'll leave. I didn't even realize that I had been sitting here for like an hour!" You say, slightly laughing, hoping to lighten the mood. As you previously thought before, Derek never looked happy, and you just didn't trust people that never smiled.

"Wait, y/n, it's late now, maybe you should crash here for the night?" Derek asked, but almost in a demanding way, as if he was telling you what to do. "Oh, no," you quickly replied, unsure of why he was even bothering to be nice to you, considering you had never had a proper conversation before. "Really, I think I'm just gonna head home." You continue.

Derek, looks at you, a little stunned that you had defied his authority and almost his demand. Yet still, his intense gaze upon you softens, and he even slightly smiles as he says, "okay." He walks with you toward the door of the loft, still in his towel. Just as you were about to slide it open, he puts his hand on the latch, preventing you from opening the door.

"Woah, hey, what are you doing?" You suddenly burst out. You didn't even KNOW him! You turn around to confront him, only to realize how close he was to you. Your back pressed against the door and him looking down on you. It wasn't until now that you realized just how hot he really was. Everything about his face was so perfect.

You took shallow breathes, as he partly leaned in. "I didn't mean to scare you, y/n. I just wanted to ask you something before you left." He said in the most politest manner. He backed away, removing his hand from the latch, giving you some space again. Your shallow breathes had deepened again.

"Yes?" You asked right back.

"I'm sorry if this seems out of line or if it comes off in the wrong way, but can I ask why you don't like me?" He suddenly blurted out. He looked a little sad.

"What? No, no, who said I don't like you? Of course I do! You seem really nice!" You frantically lied. You couldn't help it. You didn't want to hurt his feelings. You really did think he was a nice guy, but you just didn't like his persona, therefore you didn't like him.

"You're lying to me." Derek took a step towards you.

"No I'm not." You breathe as you realize he's coming closer again.

"Your heart beat is rising." He steps toward you again. This time closing in the space between you two.

"It is?" You take a shallow breathe and then hold it, as you can see just how close he was. God if he wasn't so brooding, you could've just kissed him already. He was incredibly attractive! It was only then, that you realized your back was still pressed against the wall, and you couldn't move anywhere.

"It is." Derek places both his hands on the door, but not up close to your head, but rather near your waist. "If you don't like me, it's fine, just don't lie to me. I hate liars." His expression had changed from soft to a little aggravated and annoyance. He lifted up one of his eyebrow, challenging you to try and say something.

Suddenly, Derek realized how close he was standing to you. He looked at you with such astonishment. He could see just how perfect your features were. How all of your features matched your skin, and just how small you looked in comparison to him.

He looks at your lips and then back at your eyes, almost as if asking for permission to kiss you. You respond back simply by looking back at his. He waits a couple of seconds before smashing his lips against yours. His lips felt so amazing and soft. His hands trace your waist and pull you closer to him. This felt amazing. However, he stopped.

He looks into your eyes and says "I've been wanting to do this since I saw you, but you just didn't seem to like me. This was the only way I could think of to get you to like me."

You partly smile and exclaim, "if you smiled more, I'd like you more!"

And to that, Derek smiled and kissed you once again. This time however, his kiss was rougher. ;)
