Sheyton Rapattoni opened the door with a startled look on her face. She took a look at the state her bestfriend was in and beckoned for her to get inside.
"Now tell me what's wrong," she gently said as she placed two comforting hands on her shoulders, leading her to the couch.
Makii's hair had been mussed with the wind from outside, and her eyes were rimmed red. Her jaws were rigid, her whole face were tense and her usual rosebud lips were starting to lose its color.
Makii slumped herself on the couch, saying, "I'm in a major heartbreak." Slowly, her face began to contort an expression that Shey could too well fathom. And just what she had expected, Makii bursted in tears.
Shey put a hand around her bestfriend's head and carefully placed it on her shoulder, patting her left earlobe. "He kicked my heart so pain in the ass and now I feel completely stupid and utter crap," she cried. "I thought he totally changed. I thought he's a good guy but I was completely wrong after witnessing how cruel of a being he is! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" She slapped her forehead at every 'stupid' she had said.
Looking at her sympathetically, Shey rubbed her back and said, "Okay. Just let it out. Explode every emotions you have inside."
Once she had said that, Makii continued crying, and it was louder this time. "Why did I ever meet that -- ouch!"
A box of tissue that suddenly hit her head out of the blue made her exclaim in surprise. Two heads swung to look up at where the tissue came from only to find a tall, blonde figure standing in the middle of the staircase.
"What happened to her?" An unbelivably handsome teenage guy casually asked, resting his elbows on the banister as he nodded toward Makii. His blond hair was styled in spikes, and his tantalizing blue eyes were narrowed as he stared at her. He was in his grey shirt and black baggy shorts. He was about to sleep when he heard sobbings from the living room.
"The hell is your care, Dalton!" Shey yelled angrily after she picked the box of tissue on the floor and then threw it at him, who coolly caught it with his hands.
Dalton, was Shey's only twin brother. He used to live and study in Texas, but soon moved in Los Angeles just 2 weeks ago.
"I always care," he said, half-shrugging, then threw the box of tissue back to his sister who roughly caught it.
"Well her heart is just broken, now go!" She glared at him, before turning to her gloomy friend thoughtfully and offered her the box of tissue.
"Hey, I can fix it," he offered, half smiling.
"Shut up, Dalton! You're no help!"
Suddenly, the background of Makii's loud, violent blow made Dalton stiffle a laughter. And instead of going away as what his sister had told him, he walked downstairs and sat next to Makii less than 2 feet away with his legs stretched and his crossed feet placed on top of the glass-topped table. He tucked his palms under his head and watched the crying Makii. Even that small posture of his demonstrated his natural capability to become a model.
As he watched them, Shey continued comforting her bestfriend. "I hate to say this, but I warned you before: Everything that falls gets broken."
With her saying that, Dalton suddenly threw the cushion in the midair and watched it landing silently on the floor. Shey immediately threw an annoyed look at him, only to catch him shrugging. And she knew that it has something to do with the latest statement she had said before. She then told him that, "It didn't fall cos you deliberately threw it! Idiot."
"Even if it falls, it won't still break," he stated matter-of-factly.
Glaring at him with flaring nostrils, Shey said through gritted teeth, "I'm talking about hearts. Not the stupid cushion! And if you're only here to make matters worse, why not prepare a hot chocolate and a sandwich for her?"
