chapter 9

Jacob

Trisha didn't show up at school today, yesterday she ran in her house and I haven't heard from her at all. When I walked in the school everybody looked scared of me. I ignored them and walked up to this girl. Her name is Lily and she's been my best friend for years.

Jacob: hey Lily

Lily: wassup

Jacob: why's everybody staring at me like that.

Lily: because Cole said you beat him up and now everybody is scared of you.

Jacob: haha that's funny.

Lily: so I heard you've been hangin with Trisha.

Jacob: yeah I really love her.

Lily: You could do wayyy better than Trisha, she looks like a trashcan. She needs to kill herself.

Jacob: what the fuck! NO she doesn't! She's perfect just the way she is, why does everybody judge her so much?

Lily: maybe because she's a suicidal freak, did you hit your head Sartorius? The last time I checked popular dudes like you wouldn't even think about dating Trisha.

Jacob: well I don't care anymore. I love Trisha more than what people think of me.

I walked away from Lily and went to class.

I was actually really worried because Trisha always shows up to school and yesterday she seemed really upset.

She'll be at school tomorrow though.

*skip to end of day*

When I got home I went inside and my mom looked really worried.

Jacob: what happened?

Pat: You know our neighbors right?

Jacob: yeah why.

Pat: Trishas mom just called and said she's in the hospital, she tried committing suicide yesterday and she's in a coma. The doctors are doing everything they can, but they don't think she'll make it.

Jacob: mom are you really sure that Trisha's the one in thie hospital, Trisha?

Pat: yes sweetie, why? Were you and her friends.

Jacob: I...m...mom... you're just kidding aren't you... please say she's okay please!

Pat: we don't know, I'll ask her mom if we can go there.

My mom got on the phone with Trishas mom and all I can think about is why did she do this... I can't live without her. I need her in my life.

My mom got off the phone and she waved for me to follow her to the car we got in and drove to the hospital. When we got there her mom was sitting down crying, she looked at me and smiled. I smiled back but was hurting inside. I don't want this to happen but it already did.

I went in the hospital room and saw Trisha. She was laying down with cords attached to her. She didn't move at all. I went up to her I don't understand why she would even think about doing anything to hurt herself?...

Jacob: Trisha, please wake up. I love you and I need you in my life more than anything, I don't know what I'd do without you. Please wake up.

My voice started breaking as I said that, it was all true I did love her and need her more than anything.

We stayed there for awhile and then we all went home. Trishas mom came with us and my mom talked to her for hours and tried keeping her company so she didn't feel like she was alone in what's going on. I just went to my room and layed down to sleep.
