Prologue:

"Hey, baby girl." Alex hugged me tight. He had just finished a set and he smelled horrid. "Hey, Handsome." I watched his lips as they spread into the crooked grin I loved. Alex leaned down and kissed me, my forehead, and my nose. We had been going out for the longest amount of time, and the fans of All Time Low loved us together. He took my hand and we sat on the couch of the tour bus. He put his arm around me as I leaned to lay on him. I took out my phone to "Instagram" the moment. Alex smiled again, but this time, no crooked grin. That was mine.

"Riley?" I looked up from my phone at Alex. "Yeeeeees?" I grinned, flashing my pearly white teeth, but without a grin, nor smile, nor smirk back from my love. "I've been meaning to ask you something."

'Don't you dare cry if Alexander William Gaskarth breaks your flimsy little heart. Don't you dare, Riley. It's only a boy.' Joan spoke from behind mental bars.

"Y-Yeah?" I smiled again halfheartedly. "I don't want to disrespect you in any way, but I also want to take our relationship to a new height. Not anything like, you know, sex wise, but something personal. And I don't know if life could be anything more than you and I. You're my other half. My way of escape. I don't mean to quote movies, but I know I'm not good enough for you, but I will spend my whole life proving that I am. That I can be Superman. That I can love you like no one else." At this point, Alex was off the couch and on one knee, holding a small velvet box. He opened it, and it revealed a diamond ring.

"Riley Mae Jackson, Will You Marry Me?"

I almost burst into tears. Finally, they fell as I smiled again and hugged him, nodded yes and crying, saying yes - with more crying. He smiled back and kissed me, hugging me tight. "Riley, I almost forgot!" I looked confused. How much more was there to this night? He let me go and took my hand, pulling me up and out of the bus. We stopped and he pointed up. My eyes went up to the not sky to see fireworks. He took my chin with his forefinger and thumb and kissed me softly. He then let me go and whispered,

"Happy Birthday, Riley."
