Flashes...screams.....cold biting winds........glowing emerald leaves above...warm sunlight.....sweet smelling violets on a moss covered ground.......shadows....metal clad hands stretched out towards me...blood....crows screaming
Caw.....caw.....CAW!!!I jumped out from my furs as I scrambled away from my sheets as if they were on fire
"Ughhhh" I groaned as I realized it was another nightmare.
I crawled up from the carpeted floor and dusted my night clothes. And looked out the window to the mist covered lake with breaking beams of light above the mountains.
"another day begins.....just grand" I sighed.
I covered myself in my white black coat and traveled out with my leather boots into the crystal morning. Looking about I see the other students traveling out to the great hall for breakfast.
Sirens nest was a school unlike any other , it was specialized in magic training the only requirement ,was that you must be from a bloodline or a rare human born magic user to attend, and yep you guessed it I was one of those super rare human born magic users. But enough with the introduction let's get back to the story.
"Hello ice queen" that snarky voice I would recognize anywhere. I turn to see my best friend here at sirens nest.
"Talia" I greeted through icy daggers.
"Oh hush now child that name is staying, I understand you only have ice magic but it's hilarious you froze the lake" she cried out through gasping breaths in her fit of laughter.
"That's doesn't mean I have to be called ice queen, I'm a boy after all" I stomped out as I twirled my way through the gathering in front of the great halls doors. I could see restless faces wanting warm food ,but the stone golems would not allow anyone to pass into the hall.
It has become a regular for a delay in getting food the headmistress hired air fairies to cook but the only one that can command the golems was her ,and they were massive.
"The headmistress is getting old" talia's fierce green eyes measured the anxious faces of the other students.
"Her millennia of long life is finally catching her.." she paused as I clamped my hand over her mouth."Shut it unless you want the golems to smash you flat!" I hissed out,
"honestly where is the The smart Talia I know and love, I feel that you would be the reason we are expelled!".She shook my hand free and spun around to give me the back of her straight brown hair.
"Whatever" I sighed and spun towards the hall once more. "She has been growing old quicker than years past, The strain of teaching these students in every magic possible has now become deadly" I breathed out, My hazel eyes scanned the sky and distant trees blowing with a crisp spring breeze.
"Maybe someone else will take over the school?" I said with my eyes closed and face turned up to greet warm rays.
"Yeah maybe an amateur, her knowledge is second to none she's survived the rise and fall of Rome!, and the witch trials! and out lives her blood line branches" talia said from her spot on the grass in exasperation. Unlike her nobody really cared for the headmistress, She was always to the point and serious and demanded absolute respect.
"Yeah" I replied as I collapsed next to her.
Just as the angel that stole my heart decided to invade my privacy this morning.
