This Huge Nerd

Jade Allen

      When Jade Allen heard of her father and Bruce Wayne's plans to have her move to Gotham and befriend the boy who blatantly ignored her six years ago she was more than reluctant to agree. 

"You're kidding right?" She laughed when Bruce and her dad had first asked her. 

"Jade please we just want you to at least try to help" her father Barry said sighing  "we aren't asking you to change his diapers"

"Please Jade, Damian is a very troubled kid. You know his backstory. He's having a really hard time adjusting because no other teenager understands everything he's going through. You're our best bet because you know about our other life. You'll be able to understand him." Bruce said with what Jade sensed as a bit of desperation.

Jade moved her hands to her eyes rubbing them in concentration  "I really wouldn't mind helping him out as a friend except for the fact that we aren't friends. I've tried to reach out to him but a small you know he thinks I'm a freak and he wouldn't want anything to do with me when we were younger. Have you even asked him his opinion on this?" She asked removing her hands from her eyes and pushing herself up off the couch she had been leaning against. She crossed her arms looking at Bruce.

Bruce looked a little shocked and flustered  "well I mean I was going to introduce the idea to him once it was all set in stone" he explained straightening his back gathering his composure. 

Jade rolled her eyes. "I know for a fact he won't be pleased with the idea of having an arranged friendship. He'll think I'm trying to babysit him. You know that Bruce" 

"Jade sweety how about you take a breath and let yourself be a little more open minded about this. Think about it you could help change this boy's life. He is really struggling. You may not think it but it probably really hurts him that he can't figure out why he's kind of lonely in the social department" said Barry wrapping his arm around her shoulders giving her the dad encouragement side hug. 

Bruce smiled at her with a kind of help me look to it. "You don't need to spend the rest of your existence doing this just for a while. Look your a sweet, optimistic, sassy, strong willed kind of young lady. That's exactly what Damian needs right now. I would be forever in debt to you if you would give it a try" he told. 

Jade took a breath in closing her eyes. As she breathed out she said "fine I'll do it" she hoped she wouldn't regret this.

Yay first chapter! This is just kind of a prologue I suppose to the story.
