34th West, Los Angeles California. 6:30 AM
I slammed my hand on my phone hoping to stop the loud and annoying sounds that are being emitted. I soon realized that I can't be late for the third time this week or else my bitch of a boss would totally fire. I mumbled a line of profanities that would make a pirate proud as I made way to the small bathroom of the apartment that I shared with my best friend. I quickly did my morning routine and put on my uniform. I didn't like my job much but it payed enough. I slipped on a jacket soon after.
I walked to my kitchen to find my best friend and his boyfriend lip locking.
"Come on guys, it's too early for all that. You guys could've waited until I left at least!"
"Sorry Nells. But you should be leaving now anyways. It's already 7:15." said my best friend aka
"Are you freaking serious!"
"Yeah and I don't feel like dealing with your boss again."
"Sam can you please drive me?"
"Sure." he said grabbing his keys and walking towards the door. I quickly gave his boyfriend Jude a hug and ran out after Sam.
We made our way to his car and got in. Not 15 minutes later, we got to Hooter's.
I gave Sam a quick kiss on his cheeks and quickly made my way to the door. I entered and clocked in with literally thirty seconds left to spare.
"I'm watching you Ornella." sneered my boss as she noticed my hard breathing.
"I'm sure you are Melinda." I sneered back walking to one of the other waitresses.
"Any tables available?" I asked
"Uhm... Yeah, there's one upstairs." was her reply
"Alright thanks."
I made my way upstairs and looked at the table which I was going to take care of. It was fulled of a whole bunch of guys.
Ugh, great...
I made my way to the table and plastered a smile on my face.
"Hello, welcome to Hooter's, may I start you off with your drinks?"
All eight guys stopped to look at me but my eyes landed on one. He looked at me for a bit but got out of his daze before the rest.
"A 7Up" he replied in a hard tone
Well then, what crawled up his ass and died...
I wrote it on my notepad and turned to look at the others who were still staring.
I was beginning to feel awkward so I cleared my throat which seems to have done the job.
"Drinks or should I come back?"
I received a whole bunch of replies which I jumbled down on my notepad.
"Alright. You drinks will be with you soon."
I smiled and quickly walked away to place the orders. I let out a long breath that I didn't even know I was holding.
I waited for the drinks and as soon as I got them, I made my way back to the table. I wordlessly gave everyone their drinks and stood back up straight.
"Are you ready to order?"
After collecting the order's I began to make way to the kitchen. I was stopped by a voice calling to me.
"Ornella!"
I turned and realized that it was him who called me.
"Yes. Do you need anything?" I replied
"After your shift, I want you to meet me in the back."
The way the sentence was worded made me realize that he was telling me, not asking me.
"Uhmm no thank you... I don't do hookups so no."
"I'm not asking you."
"And I'm not going to so if that's all you wanted to do then I have to go get your food."
I turned my heel to walk away but was pushed by somebody.
"Any problems gentlemen?"
I realized that this voice belongs to Melinda so if he said anything about my behavior just now, she'' be sure to fire me.
I looked at the man and gave him my most convincing pleading look.
"No, not at all" he said looking straight at me " I was just telling Ornella here that she should meet me later at the end of her shift."
"Oh, Ornella's shift doesn't end until late today."
I looked at her but she was already glaring at me. Her chest was pushed out to show her cleavage which was fake as hell.
"Then during her break."
"Today is a busy day..." she muttered
"Listen, I don't care what you say, she will meet me later." he said in a very firm voice that even made scary Melinda flinch.
"Alright..." she threw me one last glare then stomped her way back downstairs.
I wasted no time making my way back to the kitchen.
When the food was finally ready, I put it all on a cart and made my way over to the damned table.
I again, handed everyone their food and this time, when I finished I quickly made my way to the kitchen to take a break.
I already know this day is going to be shit.
After at least twelve tables and no breaks, my shift was finally over. I hung up my apron and waved good-bye to the workers in the kitchen. Completely forgetting about the guy in the morning, I began to make my way home. Soon, a matte black Lamborghini appeared to my side.
The windows were rolled down and his face was revealed with a smirk.
"I hope you didn't forget about our meeting cupcake."
SHIT!
