~Flashback~
"Rose Hun you need to promise me something." her mother held her daughter's hand as the blood quickly escaped from her wrist to the Woodn floor.
"Yes mommy?" the small child sobbed.
"Promise me that when you get older that you won't become like me?"
"I-I promise m-mommy" she began to cry harder as her mother's eyes began to close.
"i love you. My brave little solider" she whispered before shutting her eyes and releasing her daughter's small, frail hand.

"It's been 11 years mommy. I miss you so much." Rose sobbed staring at the piece of marble with her mother's name engraved into it.
"I really wish you were at my birthday yesterday. Uncle Joey was there and so was Phil."
"Nana make this locket for me." She stared at the gold pendant that lied on her chest. "It's a picture of me, you, and daddy. Remember when we went to the lake house for the summer? We made some of the best memories there."
Rose kissed the marble and stood up from her spot, folding the picnic blanket gently before setting it into her mother's basket. Everyday during her lunch break she would visit her mother's grave and eat lunch with her. talking about her day and things that have happened.
She hopped in the car and drove back to work. The day was pretty glum and it didn't help her mood at all. The sun was hidden behind grey clouds and the fog was so thick that Rose could barely see where she was going.
She safely pulled into the parking lot of the animal shelter. Taking the keys out of the ignition she ran a hand through her brown hair, exhaling deeply. Exiting the car she thought about that day. It felt like just yesterday she was a part of a big happy family that suddenly came crashing down.
"Ah Rosemary you made it just in time. Usually you're late, I'm amazed." Her boss, Riley smiled widely.
"Hi Riley," She said putting on her best fake smile.
"I have some meetings to attend to so could you help the gentleman in the back?" He asked hurriedly grabbing his folders.
"Of course." She mumbled and walked over to the back. There was a man standing in the middle of the aisle eyeing the pups.
"How can I help you?" She asked. He jumped slightly then chuckled to himself.
"Could you possibly tell me how much this little fellow costs?" He pointed to a baby pitbull that was currently sleeping.
"Ah Rex here is 500 pounds." She named him Rex because i thought that the name suited him than what Riley was going to call him. Who the heck would name a dog Chimpanzee? Sometimes she mistakes Riley for a 5 year old.
"Rex?" The man looked at me amused.
"Oh yeah I just call him Rex because I liked the name. If you buy him you can change it if you want."
"I like Rex. He's cute." He smiles and takes out a debut card, handing it to me.
She gently took the card and headed over to the cash register. After cashing it in she grabbed an orange leash and his favorite treats. She walk back to the man and couldn't believe what she saw.
