Can't Look Away

His face didn't change when he slept. It still looked emotionless, just slightly relaxed. Nothing was dazzling about it. His hair didn't shine and his face didn't glow in the pale light of the moon. Nothing was really there to catch your eyes. Yet, my mind wouldn't turn away from him, as I laid my head on his pillow he let me borrow. I inhaled his scent and stared at him from the floor where I was suppose to sleep.

'Why are you so mesmerizing, yet you're so dull?' I asked mentally, more to me than him. Soon, I closed my eyes and sighed listening to his steady breaths, lulling me to a hazy sleep. I couldn't help but crack my eyes to catch another glimpse of the older boy. That's when I caught him rolling over. Even though he was now turned away from me, I couldn't help but just stare. There was just something about Craig that I just couldn't wrap my mind around.

Still trying to think about it, I sat up from my self-made futon. I combed my hand through my messy hair. My gaze soon found its way back to sleeping Craig. I quietly got on to my hands and knees, and crawled toward him. I stopped when I reached the bed. Slowly, I lifted my hand to him.

I paused feeling my face heat up. Hesitantly, my hand stretched to Craig's hair. Then, I shakily ran my fingers through his hair. I braced myself for him to suddenly wake up and maybe punch me for touching him, but he didn't. He actually relaxed, rest his head in my hand and his breath kept steady.

'Wow, I found Craig Motherfucking Tucker's weakness.' I noted in my head.

I continued to pet and comb through his, surprisingly, soft hair. Letting out a sighed as my eyes grew heavier with ever gentle pet. Resting my head against the side I the bed, I soon drifted off into sleep. My hand still tangled in his short black locks.
