''She took a deep breath as she stood on the edge of the cliff. She felt as if the wind was breezing reprise coming from everyone who had ever known her, those who had ever heard her silent voice, and especially those who had gave her up. She felt heavy with all the white lies she had been breathing in. For her, breathing does not mean living at all, rather, it means dying all over again. It started in that certain intersection of her life that she could no longer control the things she was supposed to hold onto, these things instead became roaring cars on the road, unstoppable, coming at her fast until they end up crushing each other and she had to be the only one to fix them and that is how life works for her. Everything shatters around her as if it were raindrops continuously dropping on the windshield''.
Danielle was playing these words in her mind as she was walking along the narrow sidewalk on her way back to the dorm. It kept ringing in her ears since the last time she went to meet Doctor Randy a month ago. She was supposed to visit her again but she kept chasing the time.
Every second was like a lightning, it would strike down but in an instant, it would be gone.
Danielle had always considered time an opportunity for her to catch up with the things she thought she had missed.
The sun was high but she seemed too lost in her thoughts as she ignored the sweat trickling down her forehead.
Was it something I have read a year ago?
She thought as she was trying to recall where these words were coming from.
... or something I might have written?
She was always destined to concatenate unique ideas during crucial situations, something about her that did not change.
Danielle had always been sensitive and meticulous when it comes to writing since she was back for it after her sudden disappearance a year ago.
Her dorm was two buildings away from her history class but it had seemed like she was walking past three buildings more. Her black cardigan and jeans with her black boots was giving her a daunting dark aura. She had been emitting that intimidating impression to students exchanging furtive glances as she passed by them.
She became a completely different person except that she was still determined with joining the creative writing club again.
She was already in Mauller Hall lobby when her phone vibrated and she was back to the real world. Her poker face turned into a frown as she took it out of her black leather sling bag.
It was the same bag Tracy had given her as a gift on her birthday party on the 25th of April last year. There were only two notable gifts she cannot forget during that day, the sling bag and the cocktail white dress with thin black linings around its furry tips, and it practically looked like a dress intentioned for Christmas occasions, although it was a white and black combination and she would probably looked like a nerdy kid attending a costume party if she was going to wear it. Finn had never been that mean to give her that.
At the thought of Fin, anger swiftly rushed through her. She sighed and read the text message.Elle where r u?
It was Meg who had been raining text messages on her since she was still in her history class.Otw to the dorm
Danielle typed as she made her way up to the stairs. What?! u didn't get my text? We're eating lunch at the dining hall today
Meg had always been the gabby roommate. She wore that fake smile all the time but she had been obsessed with dragging Danielle into her life-of-the-party- gimmicks although all she was receiving was Danielle's cold shoulder.
She was pretty much used to it anyway.
