Almost Two hours ago

'I didn't know she can't remember those things anymore.'

Tristan was sitting across Doctor Randy inside a coffee shop. Doctor Randy looked at him, with a faint smile painted on her face.

'After not seeing your mom for months, aren't you even going to say 'Hi' first?'

She joked at Tristan's overly serious face. He was completely transformed into a responsible adult since he joined this writing club in the university.

He capped his face on his palms then smoothed back his hair. He let out a laugh that washed away the dusky quality from his usually cold blue eyes.

'Come on, mom. You know we talk once every two weeks.'

'That's once every month, honey, you don't pick up most of my calls.'

'Mom, I'm an adult now, and besides...'

Doctor Randy raised her hand in surrender as she reached the cup on their table with her other hand then took a sip.

'Okay, okay, I get it Mister Tristan Slater.'

She said chuckling.

Tristan leaned on his seat, still smiling. His brown hair looked reddish with the sunlight striking through the glass walls.

'Well, she has Psychogenic Amnesia, situation-specific amnesia. That certain incident has somehow become a repressed memory in her mind.'

Tristan was silent. He now understood why Danielle had been acting like someone else. People with this kind of condition usually prompt their emotional state to conceal their natural personality. Doctor Randy was waiting for him to say something but he was speechless. It's been a year since he had known that Danielle had been undergoing therapy but he never knew she was going through worse.

'You know I'm not supposed to be telling you this, honey.'

Doctor Randy said while taking out her phone from her black purse then dialled Danielle's number.

'This is the first time I'm asking about her condition, mom.' He countered before Doctor Randy made the Phone call. He rested his arms on the table and looked at his watch.

'Danielle, yes?...'

'... It's fine. I'll meet you at eleven sharp?'

Doctor Randy said on the phone. Tristan looked up at her upon hearing Danielle's name but glanced away when his mom noticed. He then took out a small box from his bag and placed it on the table.

'Wait, have you called your mom?'

She continued on the phone. Tristan kept glancing at his watch then he stood up. Doctor Randy tried to order him to sit down with her eyes but not effective, he was obviously expressing confusing actions that no one could probably understand.

'...okay, bye.'

She ended then snapped at Tristan.

'You're leaving already? Come on.'

She noticed the small box on the table.

'And what is this?'

She reached for the box and opened it. A silver pendant was carefully seated in it.

'It's Danielle's. Can you give it to her?' Tristan requested then said his goodbye.

Doctor Randy did not ask Tristan how he got the silver pendant but she was sure he could not talk to Danielle that easily. She knew something was going on between the two but Tristan was in a state of denial like he had always been since they took him in twelve years ago after a huge fire erupted in the Slater Mansion. Tristan was eight years old at that time but he acted more than his age. He was always hesitant and would never ask for a favor until Danielle came.
