ABANDONED

The boy

"Hey, you!" a voice shouts. I see the boy is standing next to me. He has short, dark brown hair, brown eyes and looks reasonably tan. "Can you take me with you?" He asks quietly. I look at him and run for cover. I give him the signal to follow. I gather some blue berries and take him back to my tree and we climb up.

"Is this where you live?" he whispers. "Yes" I mumble, whilst Stuffing my face full of blueberries. "My name's Toby, what's yours?" he asks politely. I mess his hair up, "I don't know" I say smiling. He looks puzzled. "My parents abandoned me when I was 3, just at the entrance of this forest and that's all I remember, apart from living at this tree my whole life. He looks at me concerned, "have you ever thought to go looking for them?" he asks. I look around for a bit, admiring the scenery. "Nope" I say eventually.

"Well, I think 2 things" he says with a smile, "I think i'll call you Sky and seco- "Why Sky?" I cut Toby off. "Well you're so beautiful like the sky today and you so nice." she says with a smile. "and second, we should go looking" he says excitedly. "No" I say sadly. "I've been here for 10 years, if they wanted me back they would try to find me" I say.

"Then it's arranged, we will sit here and do absolutely nothing" he says annoyingly. "No!" I say annoyed. "Then what do you want to do with your life your only what, 14?" he asks. "13" I correct. "Exactly, you want to do something with your life don't you?" he asks. I look at him then look to the ground. "Look you do what you want, but I'm off to find your parents. If you would like an adventure, come join me" he says as he slowly gets down.
