No Choice

Chapter Five

[ 2 weeks later]
I woke to see bright white lights above me. I squinted my eyes and moved my arm to cover my face. When I looked at my arm, it was bandaged. I sat up and looked at myself. My entire body was wrapped in bandages. I looked around and saw Kaneki sitting in a chair next to my bed. He was asleep...he looks like he's been crying. I stand up and groan in pain. Kaneki immediately woke up and looked at me. He got up and made me lay back down.
"You need to rest. I don't want you to get hurt anymore." I went to rub my eye and realized it was bandaged. I took the bandages off and saw a giant scar going from the side of my forehead to my chin. The scar went through my eye but I could see perfectly fine. The doctor came in and saw me awake.
"Oh good, you're awake. Your boyfriend here has been here with you since the day you were checked in." Both of our faces turned bright red.
"Anyway, I believe today we can let you out of here. I just have to go check on a few things and then you're free to go." I nodded and hugged my knees. As the doctor left I looked at Kaneki.
"What happened after I blacked out?" He looked down to the floor and clenched his fist.
"After you blacked out, Juuzou got free and shoved me far away from you. He cut all over you. I charged at him and knocked him out. I wasn't fast enough to stop him from cutting you." Tears streamed down his face and he clenched his fist tighter. I got up and wiped his tears away.
"None of this is your fault. You protected me. If it weren't for you, I'd probably be dead right now." We looked each other in the eye and leaned in until... "OMG KAITLYN YOU'RE OK!!!" We moved away from each other and looked at the door. Alicia and my other best friend Skylar ran in and hugged me. I hissed in pain and they immediately let go. "Sorry, Sorry!"
"It's ok, it's ok!" They hugged me again only less violently.
"We were so worried about you. We thought you weren't gonna be ok." I giggled and smiled sadly.
"I'm fine don't worry. Besides they said I could go home today." They both jumped around and said yay a bunch of times. I rolled my eyes and giggled.
"You two are such dorks."
"We know, but you love us anyway," they said in unison.

[4 hour later]
After 4 long hours, the hospital finally let me go home. Alicia drove us all back to her house. The first thing I did when I got there....was goes to the bathroom and puke. I guess they were feeding human food and my stomach couldn't take it anymore. Kaneki knocked on the bathroom door worriedly.
"Are you ok?!!!"
"Yeah I'm fine. They fed me normal food in the hospital. So my stomach is messed up." I finished puking and brushed my teeth. I went out of the bathroom and went to see Skylar and Alicia smiling like dorks.
"Ok what's with the dorky smiles-" Alicia lifted up her hand and I saw a beautiful diamond ring on her finger. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped.
"HE FINALLY POPPED THE QUESTION??!!!!!" Alicia nodded her head and smiled even more. I hugged her tightly and smiled.
"CONGRATULATIONS ALICIA!!!!" Skylar and I both hugged her tightly. Even though it hurt like hell, I just ignored the pain. We all spent the rest of the night talking until we Alicia and I passed out.
