Lyndia's POV:

I slowly opened my eyes in a weary daze. I look around the trashy room with tired eyes. Beer bottles and pizza crust's litter the floor. I look down and see the dried blood on my pants leg but the wound has healed due to my special werewolf abilities.

I glanced out the window and saw the sun setting. Such a beautiful sight... so gold.

I stand up on shaky legs and look around the room for a specific person. My mom. My best friend, my only true family, the only one I love in this wretched world.

"Mom?" I call out.

The house wasn't that big- only 1 room and the living room and the kitchen. I'm in the living room right now.

I call out to her once more before deciding to go look for her. I creep into the bedroom and see it empty. Only a mattress on the floor and a few clothes.

Still no mom...

I sat on the bed and wondered where mom was. She doesn't work, he doesn't let her. So where is she? I tug on my old Nikes and open the door to go out but am met with a hard chest.

The smell of him enters my nose. I dare to look up. I wish I hadn't...

He had blood smeared all over his face and a maniacal grin on his face. His hands and arms were coated with blood and dirt. I didn't even want to consider the possibilities of what happened. Small fingernail sized scratches were littered all over his face. His black hair was pulled out in certain areas. What did he do?!

Daddy let out a long joker like laugh and continued grinning hard. He cackled as if someone had told him the best joke in the world. I knew he had something to do with mama.

"Where is she?!" My voice was soft but hard hitting.

"Who you talkin' bout darling?" He still had the sick smirk planted on his face.

I so badly wanted to slap the smirk off of his face, but I knew I wouldn't get away with it. So I huffed out, "Mama."

He had a devilish look in his eyes as he answered, "She's somewhere in the woods resting... go look for her if you want. Or don't. I don't care as long as you're back here in time to make me food," He tilted his head to the side, taunting me, "Love ya darling."

Rage, sadness, surprise, and loss bubbled inside me. Tears sprang to my eyes as I ran as fast as I could into the dark woods. Mommy wasn't dead, I feel it. I would feel our bond break if she was dead.

She's not dead. She's not dead. She's not dead. She's still here- with me.

I tried to sniff her out but I couldn't smell anything but dirt and leaves. I tried to listen for anything, but I only heard my hard breathing.

Don't panic Lyn. You and mama will be fine.

"Mama!" I screamed loudly into the woods.

I continued shouting for her as I ran left and right searching for her. But time didn't want to work with me because all too soon, it became night and daddy would be expecting his dinner. Made and laid out for him.

Tears continued to stream down my face and I chocked on sobs trying to escape my throat.

I crouched down on the Forrest floor and leaned my back onto a random tree. I didn't care about the bark digging into my back. I didn't care that I would be a little bit late for daddy. All I cared about was finding mama and making her safe again.

God! Why didn't I wake up earlier?! I should've been there!

I continued sobbing into my hands as I rested on the tree. I can't believe I let this happen to her...

I stood up on shaky legs -again- and glumly walked to the small red brick house. The house was red and the door was white. The outlines of the door and windows were a silver color. I've lived in this house for the majority of my life. I remember my mom buying it because daddy said he wanted a change of scenery. Or it was because the neighbors were slowly uncovering our secret. The abuse.

Mama...

Gosh tonight will be so different without her.

Tears fell from my eyes again but I wiped them away once I opened the door to the house.

Daddy was seated on the old dingy couch watching tv. He looked the same as he did when I left him. Blood and all. He didn't look up when he pointed towards the kitchen.

I pulled a small pack of chicken and corn and made that. I was too exhausted to make anything better. Soon the food was finished and I made to plates. I only got a small piece of chicken and corn. Daddy got the other 5 pieces of chicken and the rest of the corn.

I shuffled to the living room and told daddy it was time for dinner in a small voice.

He grunted an 'okay' and got up, pushing my out of the way. He sat at the small table and dig into his food. He ate like a pig...

"What are your grades, little girl? I know you got them yesterday."

I sucked in a breath and shuddered. I got all A's except for in P.E.

"I got all A's except for one class..."

His demeanor instantly changed. His eyes turned to coal, "What class?"

"P.E." I answered, flinching back when he slammed his fist onto the table.

"What percentage?"

"79%."

"How the fuck you do fail P.E.?! How?!" He screams.

The only reason I got a low grade was because I don't change out. I don't want the teachers or student to look at my bruises.

"I'm sorry daddy. I'm sorry." I pleaded for him to let me slide but I knew better.

He hastily pushed his chair back and threw his plate at my head. I flinched into the corner and cried silently as pain and terror filled me. I felt little bits of glass enter the skin on my face and arms.

"Next time you better fucking pass or I'll throw the whole table at your ass! I promise you that, little girl!" His lips twitched an he sat back down to finish his food.

I gave him my hardest glare through the tears, but of course he noticed.

"Don't look at me like that, bitch! You can't beat my ass. Go to your room before I give you something to be mad and cry about! Go!" I scrambled to the room and threw myself on the flat mattress. I cried my heart out for my mother. The only one who loved me. Why did she have to be taken from me?

I cried myself to sleep that night. Well, like every night...

Damn, I forgot I had blood on my pants...
