"They beat down on you,"
Beep... Beep... Beep... Beep...
It was the first thing I heard when I suddenly gained conscious. My body was numb and it felt like it had been wrapped securely in a coil of a snake. My ears were the first to work. That was how I heard the not-so-steady beating of a machine. I didn't know what it was, but it sounded familiar. My eyes then began to twitch, slowly fluttering open only to close back when it met with the light on the ceiling. I then wondered where I was. I would've known if I was back down at the basement because there was no light to light up the dark room. I turned my head to the side to adjust my eyes, and when it finally did, my eyes caught onto the metal machine I noticed was a heart monitor. It then occured to me that I was in a hospital room.
I shot up from bed in fear, immediately regretting it when I felt pain surged through my torso. I whimpered a bit before settling myself into a more comfortable position while sitting up. I didn't know why I was here, but I knew I needed to get out. I don't know who brought me here, it could've been Luna Talia, but I doubted that considering that she would be busy with her mate and son. I threw the sheets of myself and removed the IV chord that was attached to the space where my arm and bicep connected. The heart monitor let out a screeching flat line when it did not feel my pulse.
I tried to walk, making it do no good because of the pain, so I limped my way over to the bathroom. I decided to relieve myself before leaving and also to check myself. When I looked at the mirror in the bathroom, I saw myself. I was a bit shocked. The mirror in my bathroom in the basement was broken and dirty. The last time I saw myself, I looked like a walking corpse. Now, I looked a little better my pale skin was still pale, but lost the sickly yellow to it. I wasn't that skinny and all flesh and bones. I looked like I gained a hit of weight, but still flesh and bones. I then wondered how long I had been asleep after they had beaten me down.
I then exit the bathroom and saw two ways to escape the room. One was a window. It was one way to escape, but then I'd injure –possibly kill– myself from the fall depending on how high I was. Then there was the door, which would lead me to get caught by the nurse, doctor, or whoever had brought me here. I didn't want to take my chances, so I opted the window. But my efforts proved useless when a nurse and doctor came in when I was so close to jumping out. They stuck me to the bed and placed back the IV chord before doing an exam on me.
