The most corrupt

The Hospital

I woke up surrounded by bright lights, sterile walls, and a nurse, whom I only saw out of the corner of my eye. I remembered every thing about the accident. Me and my boyfriend Max had been riding a motorcycle and it flipped. I had been in a coma for who knows how long and I wasn't sure what had happened to Max. As soon as I thought of him he walked through the door. His left wrist was in a cast but that was all.

"How long was I out?" I asked, glad that someone was here who I could ask. He replied "six months. I'm glad you remember me. Do you remember a motorcycle accident?"

"Yes."

"It never happened. I am your partner and not your boyfriend. Look at that nurse. Notice anything off?"

I looked over at the nurse who was outside the door talking to another patient. Then I noticed.

"She's a robot!"

"Yes. And our job is to hunt the bad ones. On the outside they look normal but on the inside humans are controlling them, making them do bad things."

"Is that one bad?"

"No, that's a nurse, who is programmed to help humans. Nobody corrupts them. Ever."

"It sounds like this is serious. Do you think I will ever remember what really happened?"

"Maybe. They have technology to feed you new memories. If they hadn't done that you would have had no memory at all"

"Why didn't they give me the proper memories?"

"That was from hacking so that our team might be forced apart."

"How did you know the memory was of a motorcycle accident?"

"They tried to feed it to me but I wasn't in a coma so I fought it."

"Oh"

I looked at him and he stared at the nurse. She came right in and checked that my vitals where in order. After that she left. Not a word to anyone, although I was guessing the robots could talk. They needed to if they where nurses or really anything else.  I was glad she hadn't said anything, because I didn't feel like hearing a long list of vitals and where they where compared to the average person. How long will I be stuck here, wondering what the outside world is like?
