Short and angsty like my life.
Jeff Kober is the best. Literally. He's pretty fly for a white guy.

Stay away from the vampire. Simple instructions.
Not that she could follow them.
Being an empath complicates things. She heard his screams which disturbed her, as they would anyone.
But they were not ordinary screams of fear. They were screams that held pain. Years of it.
Something she knew too well.
She hid in the closet, crying, feeling his pain. It was so strong, all his emotions. It was overpowering.

"Please just let me see him"
She begged Giles.

"No, once he sees you you're marked for life."

She waited for night to come.
She stepped into the room and knocked on his wooden box .
She stood silently on the other side, the multitude of what she had just done sunk in.
The air seemed colder as reality settled in.
There was no taking it back now. He had heard.
She heard a deep inhale from the inside of the box.

"Hello little one"

She could hear the smile in his voice.

She opened the box, and stared upon the face she had only stolen glances of from above the others heads.
Although his features were vampiric, they held a certain Beauty that others of his kind lacked. Strong cheekbones contoured by shadows, hooded eyes and locks of dark hair falling over his leather head strap.
He was tall.

"You know what big bad wolves like me do to little girls like you?" He asked, tilting his head, shifting his shoulders in the straitjacket.

"Who am I kidding, there are no wolves like me. And I'm guessing there's no girls like you." He said, lips pulled tightly over his fanged grin.

"You're different, I can tell. You know how I know that, little girl?"

"How." She mused,it was the first she had said.

"You've been around. You've seen. You've felt. And you came out the other side like me."
She smirked.

"Crazy?"

He nodded.

She stepped forward, wrapping her arms around his thin waist, pressing her head to his crossed arms.

"I could kill you right now, you know." He said, and she heard the vibrations of his voice echoing from his chest.

"Go ahead. I'm suicidal anyway."
He chuckled softly, and his arms flexed.

"Hmm..I like you. I might just keep you. "
