I stared at her in fascination. Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked down at her maths homework she lay on the bench in front of her. Subconsciously, she rubbed her index finger along her smooth jawline, deep in thoughts. The wind blew her beautiful, brown hair over her face.
Instinctively, I reached out and tucked a strand behind her ear. She looked up in surprise but gave me an award-winning smile as she made eye contact with me. Taking a deep breath, I spoke my feelings as I grabbed her hands and looked into her ocean blue eyes.
"Chloe Halls."
"Ryder Woods." She mimicked my formality. My name being spoken off her soft lips sounded like an angel's calling.
Focus, Ryder!
I cleared my throat before trying again. "If... say in ten years or so... you're single; will you-"
My breath hitched at the thought of my next few words. What would I say if she said no? This was a bad idea. We were only fourteen, why would she think about love and marriage at this age? With me of all people... I shouldn't have done this. I let go of her hands and wiped them on my jeans, immediately feeling the sweat. Gosh, she makes me so nervous! This was a bad, bad id-
"Will I what, Ry? Stop being such a tease, stop with the suspense already!" She encouraged me to go on, chuckling at her own words. Her melodious laugh washed away any negative thoughts in my mind and I focused solely on her.
"Will you marry me?"
She cocked her head to her right slightly as she thought about it for a while. I squirmed against her intense glare until she finally broke out into a wide grin.
"Of course I would!"
My eyes widened at her response. Wanting to be completely sure what I heard was right, I asked her again. She simply laughed and nodded.
I quickly grabbed a book out my bag and scribble down on it.
" I, Ryder Woods, promise to take Ms Chloe Halls as my loving wife and to be by her side, day and night, through sorrow and times of rejoice and to remain loyal to her after a period of 10 years. Forever and always.

Underneath my name, I quickly signed, barely being able to hold the pen from the amount of excitement within me. Hurriedly, fearing she would change her mind any minute, I wrote a similar paragraph for Chloe to sign.

I pushed the price of paper in front of her. She began reading it and as she did so, a soft smile crept onto her lips. She quickly signed under her own name. I held my pinky finger out to her, eyes twinkling.
"Promise?"
"Promise."

lol i have no idea what to write here...
this book was inspired by a foreign video/commercial thing i watched but i didn't like how it went by so quick nor how it ended so i decided to turn it into a book and adapt it so it had an ending that appealed to me more and it kept me (well you i guess?) on edge throughout - if you have watched the video i'm talking about, i'm sorry if you don't like my ending. however, know that no one is forcing you to read this book, let alone finish it. also lol yeah technically this isn't my idea but like i said, i'm adapting and changing it as i go along, it's also much harder to turn it into a book than a video, so a little bit of credit? pleaseee?
