Chapter 8: Birthday Ball

 "After all the planning and the drama with Jack it's finally time for my birthday ball. Even though I don't really like having a ball each year for my birthday." I say as I'm getting my hair and nails done. "Why? your getting a huge party with all these gifts and a super great cake?!?" Lily says getting her makeup done. "Is it because after everything you still have to dance with Jack the dirtbag?" Maya says sitting with her hands under the UV  light to dry her nails. "Well how tiring the whole is for me but, yeah some of why I'm dreading this ball is because of Jack he didn't come to any of the dance rehearsals plus he has been posting all kinds of pictures with a new girl each night." I say as we all rotate to a new station. "So what if jack has been out with girls each night, you guys aren't dating." Lily says with an attitude that everyone noticed but me. "Jack is suppose to be very cautious of the stuff he does with other girls in public. Becau-" I cut Maya off "Because our parents and publicist all talked with each other and came to an agreement, they said that we don't have to hangout with each other in public anymore we have to wait till we announce it to the people of Roku and Wii. Thats how the media will find out about the royal break up." Maya and Lily get up and start putting on their dresses. "I still don't get what that has to do with Jack posting pics with other girls" Lily says putting on her heels and laying out her after party outfit. "We can't post anything about not being together." I say starting to get frustrated. "But that doesn't mean he is dating other people he could lie and say that there just friends, the media doesn't always assume that people are dating or there playing the field." Lily says brushing out her dress. "I'M DONE TALKING ABOUT THIS LILY! WHY WON'T YOU JUST LEAVE THIS ALONE! JEEZZ" I yelp very agitated. "Lily they are ready for you." My mother says sweetly guiding Lily out of my room. My mother turns to look at me then to Maya then to me again. "What is it...whats going on with you 2...and whats it have to do with Lily?" My mom says coming in. I look at Maya she gives me the "don't tell her we don't have enough evidence yet" look. I look back at my mother and notice the gorgeous my mother was wearing. "You look amazing mom... absolutely amazing." I say starting to put on my dress. "Ok... get more info then tell me...got it." My mom chuckles. Maya and I giggle. Just like Maya and I know each others signals, so do our mothers. We all walk out of the my room and head to the ballroom.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The waltz begins to play as my mother and father take to the floor to start the worst moment of the night. "Once this is over it's smooth sailing from here" I whisper to myself. 3 eight counts later, Ralph goes out there with MAYA! My jaw drops to the floor as she and my brother begin dancing. I scan the room looking for Jack and all I see is Cameron smiling at me. His face has you can do this written all over it. Now it's my turn to join in the dance I look everywhere for Jack I don't see him anywhere the crowd begins to murmur in disbelief. My father looks even more heart then I am while my mom and Maya look at me with the "are you ok" and  "Where the F**K is he" look. Which funny enough is very different from "Where is he". Cameron looks at me then to my brother who looks like he is going to rip someones head off. Ralph gestures to Cameron to come dance with me. He looks at my father and hesitates, but then he looks at me. Before I knew it Cameron and I were dancing. "Thank you" I whisper to him. He smiles as me as the crowd stops gossiping. Just as everyone begins to dance as well. I see Jack talking with a blonde haired girl... Lily.
