They grow. Leaves grow in trees. Green growing leaves are found away from Carniferous,( aka pine trees and the sort). Green growing tree leaves change color in the fall. The trees leaves stop collecting sunlight so the chlorophyll stops being green making the leaves red yellow or orange.
I had a pet leaf on day. His name was Steve. Steve was a gold tree leaf, the last in the tree. I climbed the tree to get Steve, but before I could grab him he blew away.
No more pet tree leaf named Steve.
